Invertank
In a war-torn world, two advanced nations fight for control - one nation of humans, the other of war robots controlled byan errant war tank. A crack tank pilot has been sent in a very special tank to punch through the three layers of defenses surrounding the enemy leader, and to destroy the leader at all costs.

This tank has the ability to invert gravity. When it has normal gravity activated, it can flip to reverse gravity while under a shelf of ground, and vice versa (so you need to have ground "above" you to reverse gravity).

A few upgrades have been dropped throughout the levels, try and get them whenever possible, as they will help you in the end.

This game was made in 3 days for the 72 hour game competition at gmclans.

Controls:
W : Reverse gravity point towards the top of the screen ("down" becomes 90 degrees)
S : Reverse gravity point towards the bottom of the screen ("down" becomes 270 degrees)
A : Move backwards
B : Move forwards

Mouse: Move Crosshairs
Left Mouse Button: Fire laser turret.
Right Mouse Button: Fire rockets at a position designated by the crosshairs.

Since the game is so big, thsoe who have slower connections can download a lower quality version:

The High Quality version is 13.9mb and is the main download on this page.

Graphics, Programming, Sound, Design: Flashback

The game is that big because we have five fairly long tracks of music by Dúnedain.

First post! Looks awesome, downloading now.

edit: very cool, very unique. But somehow it doesnt quite seem like a finished game, its just the small things that bug me. Like for example, It uses the default icon and loading bar, and for some obscure reason, when you fire rockets some of them will either drop straight to the ground, injuring you, or go entirely the wrong way, and hitting the ground, again injuring you. Other than that it is a fantastic game. Fix the rocket bug and it would be worth a 9, but it really is frustrating to have hte exit in sight, only for your own rockets to blow you up. For that I am only giving it an 8.

Great concept. Not executed too well. I missed the ability to see further than the view. Also, missiles should continue after they hit the crosshair I think. I found this game to be pretty difficult.

Thanks all. Keep in mind, though - I couldn't add all the cool features due to the fact that I had only 3 days to make this in.

Also, about the missiles, I thought it would be neat ot have the missiles programmed to detonate at a location, rather than hitting something only.

It was OK. There didn't seem to be very much to do though...

Why would I use it? The one I have now works perfectly fine, and if I wanted it to be different, I'm perfectly capable of coding my own.

@sinkhead: I have the feeling you didn't get past the wall i nthe first level. Try blowing the tar out of it with your weapons for a bit to get through.

I didn't really understand what to do, so that's the no rating thing. But anyway, it looks slick, nice weapons, sweet explosions... I'd love to play a version with tutorial, so I hope you can still make a non-compo version...

I'm not going to make a non-compo one till the compo is judged, so I can't be accused of cheating. When I do make a non-compo one, however, I'll probably make more of the things I had planned (enemy bombers, more stages, etc.)

the difference between RAR and zip on this is even less than 7z and zip.

beat, it was.

I liked the concept, though i didn't like that you couldn't invert gravity in midair, therefor taking out jumping.

Hmmm, this game seems to have a fair amount of pro's and con's.

Pro's:
The gameplay can be fun in areas
The music is quite awesome (It was probably the best thing in the game =D)
Some of the effects are very nice
Con's:
The sprites look weird (C'mon, the menu was uggy XD)
The gameplay can seem a bit funky
Some of the effects clash with everything in the game xO

That gives joo a B+

8/10
