Ack Ack Engine
AckAck is a collection of scripts that allow for pixel perfect collisions and platform physics.

For those who want extremely realistic physics though, go straight to GMphysics, AckAck was made to be extremely easy to use.

I've also added quite alot more now, things such as lightning control, destructible terrain(without surfaces!), wind, time playback, and heaps more.

Credit is only needed if you plan to release another something with an editable.

And if you want it, the link to the GMC AckAck topic

Wow. That was one hell of a superb engine. Nothing else to say.

I'd recommend adding a preview picture so that this receives more attention.

I can't actually run surfaces on my computer, which does present a really big problem for this sorta stuff...

And hey, I can't put something into my own creation if it won't work for me

Error in the destructile terrain part (no sprite to draw to). (-1/10)
Only 52 FPS in lightning part (I wouldn't complain about this except that I have arcing lighting (and more of it) running at 240 FPS on the same computer). (-1/10)
But as a platform physics engine...9/10
I commend you for a realistic platform physics engine. If you had made it so that newbies could figure it out, it would be 10/10 on the physics.

This is really good. It answers lots of questions noobs often ask, and isn't too hard (for a noob) to implement.

Me though, I'm sticking to GMphyics.

VERY nice... :) The object player moved very smooth through the game. I liked it. I can't use it for my own game anyway, because there are all scripts and stuff...

But I liked it very much. 9/10

I rated 10.. fantastic

Do you have a way of checking if you are being hit by lightning?

...and you say credit is only needed if we make something editable? Is that to say that if we are just using this in a game, credit is at our discretion?

I never liked being credited that much, AckAck originally didn't need any credit at all. But after some people on GMC released there own platform engines which required credit go to them, and it used parts of my code... well yeah.

And currently, well no, I don't think theres a way to check collisions with lightning.

Very nice.

My only suggestion is that you improve the slopes. As usual, the player didn't "stick" to the ground when going down, and he didn't lose speed when going up. Slippery slopes would also have been nice.
