A Goblin's Xmas Tale (Beta)
THIS IS THE BETA! GRAB THE ACTUAL VERSION FROM STEAM RIGHT HERE

A Giant Goblin's Xmax Tale
In this 4th-wall-breaking game you take control of the Giant Goblin who has just shot down Santa on Xmas night. Together, you and the Giant Goblin will go on a merry-old-fashioned-evil-ghost-candy-killing-holiday rampage, to maybe save Xmas from the jerk, Valdeze, who has stolen the naughty-and-nice-list and all the presents.

- The whole tale is fully voiced by actors
- 2D pixelart arcade comedy/horror shooter
- The main game can be played local co-op
- Local 4 player VS. mode
- The Giant Goblin will complain if you control him badly
- Full of surprises and strange things

If you make a let's play of A Goblin's Xmax Tale, we would love to see it and will share it. So tweet to us at: @Giant_Goblin_S

Reminds me of an old game I loved, where you shot "balloons" that flew around over the head of you. When you hit one it split itself in two. Can not remember what the game is called, but it was cooool.

This game have a lot of the same old good vibes, and really well made overall, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Mrpete, thanks I'll let Maria know ^^ And yeah those sounds and backgrounds do add to filesize. I hope you'll find the bandwidth somewhere :)

Ddn, that must be Bubble Struggle! Or one of them arcade games that I can't remember the name of either. And thank you, your comment means a lot.

Zuurix, that sounds awesome. I'll eagerly await to hear how it goes. And thanks so much for helping out in the testing stage of the game.

5/5 stars, definitely earned it.

Bravo! You did an amazing job here people, extremely funny, giggling, sarcastic dialogues mixed with challenging and fast-paced shooting gameplay it's a winning mixture! Especially the goblin is so cool, "just gimme the money and I'll save Christmas you fat fart" XD

ddn: Are you referring to Buster Bros by capcom?... Made late 80's between the new 90's.

I liked the dialogue but I'm not much of a bullet hell type of guy. I ended up quitting eventually. :(

Well, I downloaded it. Tried to run it but it faults on the sound dll(SMFX.DLL).... I tried in XP and WIN7. Same thing even turned off the firewall same issue.

Sorry, just didn't work for me.... So, I can't rate it.

MrPete Oh yeah I remember playing that game in the arcade ^^ that's too bad that you can't play it. It'd recommend you to update that dll to a later version only the game doesn't really seem to use it (I don't even have it on my computer). I did a google search and from what little that came up it seems the dll in question is related to Flash MX. This is a C++ game which uses OpenAL for sound. So I'm a bit puzzled :s
(Clues anyone?)
Thanks for downloading it after all though.

LAR cool I'm glad you gave it a go ^^ And we now have front page ^^

There's also beginning to show lets plays on youtube which is magnificent. Watching them makes all those hours coding this game pay off for sure ^^

There's also this by the way:

The video explains a bit better what this game is all about.

SpectreNectar... It's no prob. Thanx for your reply on it though.. At first I thought it was my firewall and just turned it off while my system was offline. But no, windows both XP and WIN7 specifically show the fault.... It's n the .DLL. Um I'm gonna still rate a good rating from what I've seen and watched about the game it's no prob. I hope to see your next project in the future. Perhaps, you might have time to port to linux in the future as well.

= ) Pete =)
