hmmm pretty cool

That is really cool only sometimes a little amateurish in the occassional place- dialog boxes for speech, not using alpha for the starting credits etc.
Wonderful music though, where did you get it?

All RIGHT! I've been waiting so long for this! Here's a short review type thing:

---graphics---
The graphics are pretty cool. I lke the cartoonish style you used. However, it doesn't look like you spent too much time on the clowns or that giant REZ boss. Otherwise, very nice and original. 8/10!

---sound/music---
Well, you obviously got the music from the internet. The music used for when the village burning down is from Star Wars... The sound was OK, but you could have made better choices. 6/10.

---programming---
It seems you've put a lot of effort into this game. I liked the movement and how you have to hold the W key instead of tapping it. THe bosses just kind of rn around shooting little spikey things at you and the AI wasn't much better. Also, there should have been upgrades for your laser thing. 6.5/10.

---story/plot---
There doesn't seem to be any actual story. At first, you seem to be trying to find the headmaster of deadland. You go through snowy and grassy landscapes, an evil circus, a burning village, civilization, tunnels, and underwater caves to find him. You never do. You are taken into REZ's mind with fire and demons after him... You see REZ as a human and some black glob called 'Fear Eater'. 8/10, mysterious and interesting.

All that is very true, hootie.

I tried to make a fan game of it before it came out. It sucked cause I didn't know how to use blending then. The enemies were all emoticons and had almost no AI. XD

can u please give me the AI code for the zombie enemie? and one more thing! i dont have the fullversion of GM.

Ah, I finally got around to playing it :)

It wasn't all that short at all, really. Longer than the majority of GM games. The main thing is: I actually took the time to win it.
It took maybe 1/2 an hour to finish? Maybe more, under an hour, anyway.

The plot was hard to follow, but it sort of added to the mystery of it, I guess. I still have no clue what happened. The ending story thing disappeared before I could read it all.

It would have been neat if being underwater did more, such as alter the jumping physics.

At first I quite liked the empty levels, but then they got a little repetitive. The many backdrops and scenes were neat though.

The bosses were fun, but too simple Simple as in they just flew around and shot at you. I partcularly thought the circus ringmaster guy was creative though.

Well if you make a sequel try and get some more enemy behaviour or something, please, it was repeditive.

Overall a fun game. I'll be looking foward to a sequel!
