Looks good.

Download version doesn't work though, spits out this error:
"There should be 'UnityAnimationTest_Data' folder next to the executable"

One of the coolest animation styles I have seen for 2D sprites. The character really feels 3-dimensional!

8 years in the making, too.

Just DL'd and tried it out. It's awesome! The 2D + 3D reminds me of Paper Mario.

What kind of game is it going to be?

Btw, just found this:

which was my attempt at "modular" animation. I remember it being a huge pain in the ass

I'm currently aiming for it to be a stealth-adventure game with large, urban areas that can be explored. However I am also leaning towards making it into a cinematic platformer since I'd like it to be more story-driven than action. After all, its (unedited) script is approaching almost 50k words!

Also at one point I tried to make my own skeletal animation system because Sk2D (the most popular system available for Game Maker at the time) was pretty limited at the time. But then Spine came out and provides more than everything I could have asked for in a skeletal animation system.

Looks yawn, learn to use meshes in spine, an easing

I would rather draw more inbetween frames than use meshes, for the sake of simplicity. Though I will definitely use them for facial animations.

Then use secondary motions for the arms and torso instead of tweening the shoulders. It looks off.
