Overpoulation is a symptom, not a cause, of social ills. The problem is the world's economic system is generally slanted toward enriching the few at the expense of many. Fucking trickle down bullshit. The whole overpopulation thing is also kind of a class weapon, like, you get these middle class white people who've never had much of a problem getting by, and they've got this image in their brain of single black women with 4 kids or maybe immigrant families with 6, and all they can think to do is blame them for the shitty economy. Anyway Infoshop did a piece on this, it's a lot better than what I've come up with, google it if you like.

That kind of doesn't explain why my middle class white family where I'm the only child has significantly less trouble getting by than one of my (devout Catholic) friend's middle class white family with six kids, but fine.
