Ambition
Posted on January 09, 2013 at 19:13 ![]() [Ambition] Insert deep thought here. I'm hoping google led me to the right symbol/character. #Whitewashed #Hashtagsmakemecool I'm actually pretty damn lazy. I usually wait for inspiration when I have nothing to do (School), or I find something interesting visually or conceptually online. This came from reading something about the meaning behind the 8 ball in a certain position. I guess I'm pretty cocky too, since life hasn't kicked me in the butt yet. I get away with ridiculous procrastination, and until I get smacked upside it probably won't change too much. The consequences of incomplete deadlines probably motivate me to finish them, though only at the last moment in most cases. What motivates you? Modit: We'll leave this open for 24 hours in the hopes some interesting discussion will come out of it. Oops. Gotta get back in the flow of 64D blogging guidelines. Modit: No worries, friend.

It's Been Awhile

What do you do when you're bored? Search your username on google.
I can't believe I forgot about this place. Here's what I've been up to. BnB? Still love the concept, and might try it again when I have more spare time. We took the art, revamped, and played around with different concepts. Example of one: http://i52.tinypic.com/212dczo.png (Mind you this was before Terraria was announced, so it's pretty old.) Character was also revamped (Comparing it with the old screenshot that was posted here), as well as numerous other things, before the entire project was put on indefinite hiatus. I haven't done any pixel art in a long long time. Most of my time is spent on school, college portfolios (Cause I'm a youngster), anime/LNs, and LoL. Probably in reverse order. So I just wanted to say hello again. Example of recent work: http://i47.tinypic.com/rlkjfc.jpg Originally it was a contrast between Green/Red (After watching .Hack//Quantum), but I messed around with colors and such and that's where I ended up. Add me on LoL: Ethelon II (ethelon ii) I really ought to update my banner. It's atrocious. -Ethelon
Wanderlust: Rebirth
Posted on June 07, 2011 at 01:46
Copy pasted from another forum where I wrote this:
----- Developed by Matthew Griffin and Jason Gordy. http://wanderlustgame.com/ So Wanderlust itself was a really popular old online game years ago at GMC. Almost 5 years ago, they started making Wanderlust: Rebirth. They've finally finished it, and it's in Open Beta right now (if you want to go play the first three chapters, there are new features if you've played it before). On Jun. 14, the game will be up for sale for 10$, and I can honestly say that it's worth it (having played through the content as a beta tester). Buying the game will unlock Chapters 4-10, Epic Mode Chapters 1-10, and Crawl Mode (Once you unlock it through later chapters). Since Open Beta began on Jun. 1, there have been people online constantly, and plenty of dedicated servers, so you can always find a game. Anyway, the point of this topic is to basically say, go try the game out, support fellow game maker developers, and discuss the game itself. I apologize for a bit of sloppiness, I just wanted to get some word out here. ----- For a Game Maker game, Team Wanderlust's really gone far, so you guys should help support them. 10 Dollars is cheap! I'll also probably blog about the project that Build 'n Battle morphed into, and maybe post some screenshots. Thanks for reading! -Ethelon
Build 'N Battle

This was a side project (with SapphireTears2D) we were going to make, as an original incarnation of the idea used in ST2D (being able to build platform style, reminiscent of the fun ST brought).
Instead of aiming with your mouse, you have 4 directional aiming; a shooting style similar to Cave Story (Oh boy here with the inspirations again). I tried making the art style similar to Cave Story as well: ![]() (Mockup, temporary graphics for buildable blocks?) The game pretty much consists of building bases with team members and duking it out. There will be classes to enhance the gameplay. Just a very brief overview on how things are looking right now. We've thought out alot of other aspects to the game too, I just wanted to throw something out to 64D. -Ethelon
SapphireTears 2D
Posted on July 23, 2010 at 15:43 ![]() ![]() No, Jake isn't working on it, but he knows that Gamr and I are working on it. :D First screen is an ingame screen, the second is a mock of underground building/deletion (which is a WIP in terms of coding). So far the normal above ground building is pretty much a replica of the Sapphire Tears one, with the bulkblock building function of ST.etc We've planned to add different items with checks to avoid abusing, as well as some sort of credit system that resets every game, so you can't build too many special objects. ----- So yep, will I ever finish a game? Lefaeon was on hold as we explored other game ideas, and it seems like this is the one we're sticking with at the moment. OoT2D is also stalled, though graphic work continues, because it seems Xfixiums computer must have exploded again, so our hopes of making the Z3 event at ZFGC are low, but we still could make NCFC (Nintendo Community Fangame Convention). I also need a new Avatar, and speaking of Avatars, I rewatched the entire Avatar: The Last Airbender series in the last 3 days. Oh also Kabob, I luv cheese too =( I'm rambling now. /end |
