'Secret' Project Progress Report
Posted on May 15, 2007 at 20:18
Hooray! Work on the 'secret' project is going better than expected! I personally did not expect much work to take place until the summer broke through, but things are going well. I also feel inspired to continue its work.
Obviously I'm still not going to tell you what it is, and a time estimate would still be unrealistic seeing as progress becomes randomly hindered from day to day when something comes up. I hope it won't take too long, but I do want to do a really good job on this project, seeing as it is my first. After re-reading some of my older entries, I realized I mentioned website. That still won't come for a while though... just as I thought. I might be making it in PHP though. That should keep me busy over the summer. I still prioritize the project over making the website however, because it is more enthralling (duh). This concludes the progress report. :)
First Game Maker Project
Posted on April 13, 2007 at 23:07
Well, I've made many Game Maker projects in the past, but seeing as I've never actually seen one through, I consider the plans for my next project my first 'official' Game Maker project. Unfortunately this blog is not meant to reveal to you the contents of my project, but other random information, and to vent my surplus of joy (*gives the reader cookies*).
I'm not sure whether it will be an example, game, or both. I'm leaning more towards example. However, if it starts to PWN to the extent that I can no longer feel my toes, I'm going to have to add an additional PWNing game. In fact, now that I review things in my mind, I've decided both. Especially because the summer is coming up. Not that I expect it to be so long as to need the summer to see the project through. Well, no updates on getting a website or starting a PWNing group. Those plans are on hold. More information on this project possibly in the next future blog entry. ;) Trust me, it will PWN.
Better File Compressor

Ever wonder why? I sure do. Today we're going to wonder why there isn't a better way to compress your files before uploading them. But there is! It just so happens that I got recently annoyed over the fact that files take longer than necessary. In addition, I can't upload lots of large projects I have made deep in the past.
My friend told me about a better file compressor. I didn't think that I'd need to use it, but it turns out compressing files means more to me now. Mainly because most file hosts won't accept files larger than 10 MB... so, yeah. Anyways, the program is called 7zip. I don't know if people around here use it or not, but it's really good. Here's the link: http://www.7-zip.org/ Hooray. :)
Game Maker 7

Yes, a breakthrough. I received an email a few minutes ago concerning my Game Maker 7 activation code. And let me tell you, it's about time. It took prolly about 1 month to finally get it. Now, I activated it, and just in time to start what I believe to be my first actual project in Game Maker ever.
Okay, I confess: I have made what I refer to as: 'a sad excuse of a GM attempt' in my life. But instead of being persistent and blindly asking n00bish questions on the GMC, I decided to read the entire help manual. My focus, of course, GML! :D Well, more information to come later. But anyways, yay! I hope those of you who have paid your money's worth for Game Maker 7 will get your activation code soon too (that is if you already haven't)! :)
General Grievous

Yes, I have arrived. Most of you probably don't know me because I'm new. I intend to make examples until the summer, when I'll begin on some awesome projects. ;) Also during the summer, I'll create my own website for all of my games and stuff like that... I haven't gotten too caught up in the website planning yet, because summer is still a few months away. But I'll give updates where needed.
Anyways, I am a programmer. I am also really good at design, but definitely not spriting, and I have no appropriate programs for generating music. The main reason I don't have any projects is actually because I'm still training in fluency of GML. I've been doing so for about a month or two. I specialize in platformer games, but I'd perfer to be an all arounder in programming various game types. Until then, feel free to email me if you are in need of an example, or know an example that lots of people are looking for so that they can stop looking. :P Prev Page | Next Page |
