Amazing Spider-man (wasn't that bad)
Posted on July 11, 2012 at 20:28
I'm not sure how popular MovieBob is (a movie critic on The Escapist) but he gave the movie a horrible review. Metacritic has it at 66% right now. I don't think it was that bad. I mean it wasn't that great either but i wouldn't flame it. I don't know if it was people's expectations or simply the fact that this movie may have been stuck in the shadows of the previous Spider-man movies. oh well.
Craptastic RPG update: added the hud. plain as hell but whateva.
+1
Dev - Er, any ideas how to make this work?

Yeah me to. usually i agree with him. this is the one time i didn't. i think one of the commenters presented a good guess as to why though. I'm thinking he just didn't want to like it, simply watched the movie too look for things to insult. if you walk into a theater expecting to hate a movie, you're probably going to.
The last movie I saw in Theatres was Ted, which I personally found to be simply amazing! But I will say that Amazing Spiderman looks okay. I personally thought that the old Toby Macquire Spiderman movies were somewhere between mediocre and terrible, so for me the bar is really low. I'll prolly wait 'till its on DVD, but I will definitely think its a little soon. I heard they're already planning a Batman reboot too...
The original three Spidermans range from bleh to meh
Ted had some funny jokes/dialogue but other than that it was kind of bland The Avengers is a mess with some of the problems inherent in anything Joss Whedon is attached to but in the end (and beginning and middle) the better Whedonisms come together and make it something of a masterpiece I haven't seen The Amazing Spiderman; it looks like it's trying to do a few cool things but I'm not sure how well they'll pan out I should do a whole blog of these movie reviews. Quote i had a few laughs but ultimately, it turned into a drama about half way through and i got tired. Yeah I'll admit that the humor was a little uneven. I laughed the most in the very beginning when the jokes were more subtle, like "Christmas is a magical time of year, when everyone picks on the jewish kids" or the narator talking about how their comes a time in a celebrities life when "nobody gives a shit." Unfortunately the narration quit rather early, which was the funniest part of the introduction in my opinion. Overall, I still really enjoyed it. Sorry if that was topic derailment there guys |

I like movieBob, but that sounds like a disappointing review on his part.
