Random blog titles are my specialty!

I have to figure out how to use HTML to make font sizes...

I start on this and immediately decide I like GM better. I look at the model, look at the drawing. They look the same. I move on. It doesn’t work. I look at it again and realize I have to do it all over because I used a 12 by 2 pipe instead of a 10 by 3. But then as I’m disassembling it a screw gets jammed in the pipe and bent out of shape and I have to use a vice to get it out. Then I feel bored and get on the computer and work on GM. [:P] I’ll probably finish it in a while though because it looks really cool but I really wish there was an “undo” button.

Onto a completely different topic…
From my point of view:
Kenon, Flashback, and Rez all leave and Arcalyth considers leaving.
What’s with this site? Didn’t it use to be a great community where no one ever even considered leaving?
Maybe I’m just chewing my own head off here for no reason, but maybe there is just too much happening on the site. I see new games appear almost every other day, I see a new blog every few hours, and that means a lot to keep up with. It seems to be worse since we don’t have a lot of staff in the first place. And then when they resign (not saying they shouldn’t) it creates a vicious circle, placing more workload on the remaining staff. I’m not trying to accuse anyone of anything, make anyone mad, or predict the downfall of 64Digits, but I was just thinking about this. And now I’ve run out of things to say about this sooo moving on…

Sometimes I feel like I’m doing too many things at once while I’m doing nothing at all. I’m constantly busy on the computer and I like being on the computer, but in the eyes of my family I’m doing nothing for hours except sit at the screen. I feel that for me, there is a delicate balance between real life and on-line life. It’s almost as if I’m living two lives at once… And both my lives don’t know each other very well and ask why I spend so much time with the other one. But why am I telling everyone here? We’re all computer freaks here, are we not? [:P] still…

Wow this has got to be my longest blog yet and I still have to write about what I’ve been doing in GM, which is… not much. I was hung up on a lot of programming for making 3 speeds to choose from in Purpliggy (my WIP) for the levels because I’m too much of a n00b to know an easier way of speeding everything up depending on a global variable without using room_speed… It wasn’t really that I couldn’t figure out how to program it so much that I had to do a ton of time-consuming programming because I didn’t know an easier way…

Well I guess that’s it. If you read this entire blog – congratulations! You have a very long attention span.

Be happy 8-D

I'm Senile

Yes I am. I will always say OMG instead of OMFG, ????? instead of WTF, and LMHO instead of LMFAO. I rarely get angry and never swear. I’m dead serious.

Moving Along…

----GM----

I made two demos! Or rather, found them lying around and decided to work on them. Personally I think they are pretty cool, but you’ll have to find out for yourself.

Jellyman

Kuku Fluff
(

Have fun and tell me if you like them – plus suggestions and tips – you know the drill.

Moving along farther…

----Line Rider----

I found some free Mac recording software (finally) – Screenography. It shows “DEMO” in a large but almost completely transparent watermark on the video but hey – I can live with that if it’s free.

Moving along even farther…

----64Digits----

I spiced up my page a bit! I made my own banner, and applied my own fonts (but they are Mac fonts so I dunno if people with PCs can see them…

And still farther…

----Super Bowl----

Personally I’m rooting for the colts because I think Manning deserves a Super Bowl win but hey, that’s my opinion. I better go do my homework before It comes on.

And that’s about it.

Be happy,

How many boards would the Mongols hoard if the Mongol hordes got bored?
Posted on January 24, 2007 at 22:11

I know it's a random title, but it's from Calvin and Hobbes, so there's no complaining. Well, how many? Who has answers???

I am obsessed with line rider. I'm still obsessed with GM too, but now I have an additional obsession. (I’m getting less and less sleep)

I made two videos (in progress):
Big Fishi and Twippee
Maybe they are terrible but tell me what you think nevertheless.

I found a ton of videos online (hey, I was bored):

Jagged Peak Adventure – The classic!
M.C. Escher in 3D – WOW!
Urban Run – sequel to the classic
The Long Journey Home – a very long detour - hilarious!
Crazy Cave
The Amazing Nose Manual – He’s on his nose the ENTIRE time!
One Eyed Giant - I believe Kaz found this one before me
Crazy Castle Run

Does anyone know of free screen capture software for Mac OS X? I'm currently using Snapz Pro X but the trial runs out in 30 days and then I’m screwed. Can anyone help?

Meanwhile, I got a lot of feedback on a WIP I submitted that it was boring. So I decided to make it more interesting… I’m doing a graphic makeover (and adding animations and effects) as well as a faster speed option for the levels… I'm also considering powerups and such... Hope it helps. But I’m not giving up on this – I worked on it for 4 months.

So… I guess that’s about it. Oh one more thing! I figured out how to send files to a compressed folder and bypass Winzip with all it's 30 day trials and stuff!!!!!! Ok, Ok, I'm a complete noob I know, but I've been around Macs all my life and got a PC when I got obsessed with Game Maker, so some PC stuff is new to me still...

That's the end...

The Galaxy
Posted on December 28, 2006 at 14:56

Whenever life gets you down, Mrs. Brown
When things are hard or tough,
When people are stupid obnoxious and daft,
And you feel that you've had quite enough...

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's revolving,
Revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 90 miles a second so it wreckin'
Round the sun which is the source for all our power.

The sun and you and me
And all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day!
In an outer spiral arm at 40 thousand miles an hour
In the galaxy we call the milky way.

Now the galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars.
It's a hundred thousand light years side from side.
It bulges in the middle 16 thousand light years thick,
But out by us it's just three thousand light years wide.
We're 30 thousand light years from Galatix and Il Quan
That go round every 200 million years!
And our universe is only one of millions and billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.

Now the universe itself is expanding and expanding
In every direction it can wid
As fast as it can go,
The speed of light you know,
A million miles a minute -
That's the fastest speed there is -

So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely was your birth.
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up above
For there isn't any down here on earth!!!

Lighten up!
There are stars in the sky!
Lighten up!
It's a good question why,
But you don't know the answer
And neither do I.
So meanwhile let's just all lighten up.

And...
Remember that you're standing on a planet that's revolving,
Revolving at 900 miles an hour.
It's orbiting at 90 miles a second so it wreckin'
Round the sun which is the source for all our power.

The sun and you and me
And all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day!
In an outer spiral arm at 40 thousand miles an hour
In the galaxy we call the milky way!

In an outer spiral arm at forth thousand miles an hour
In the galaxy we call the milky way!

Love that song.

I'm new here. It's so hard to tell if I'm considered a noob or a newb, but I guess I shouldn't worry about it that much and more about making games.

I'm working on an arcade maze game called Purpliggy - and planning to submit a WIP soon. I'm just switching from GML to code (I started GM in August) and teaching myself as I go. It's really fun to program! I never realized how much fun programming games could be! Thank you mark overmars!

So... How do you people on 64 Digits come up with what to blog about? It seems to me that most blogs are about other blogs. That would be blogging about others blogging about blogs of others on the subjects of someone else's blog. I like doing that.

Final Words:

Be happy (that's an order)
