House Music and Universities
Posted on August 30, 2011 at 15:39
Hey so a lot's happened in the past month. The University of Urbana Champaign lifestyle has caught on in less than a week. I've come to realize just how much free time college kids really have. Maybe that's cause I don't do much homework, but yeah. LOTS OF FREETIME. Which gives me more time to compose music and mix and draw and hop around frat parties and all that.
If any of you other guys are at UIUC, let me know! We'll try to have a 64digits reunion (even if it is just two people)! Speaking about frat parties, I'm happy to see that a lot of college kids accept non-drinkers/non-smokers. I've walked through my fair share of jumpy sweaty teens carrying big red cups and occasionally I get offered a drink. If you deny them enough times, they give the whole "dass cool man, das cool" and slump over towards the keg. I'm happy to say that I think I can continue my straightedge trends even through college parties. Yay me! But here's what's important for this week! Once again, I'm part of another Talenthouse contest that'll test my mixing skills as opposed to my Photoshop "skills". Anyways, trance DJ Paul Oakenfold started up a contest for people to create a five-minute mix for him. Honestly, 5-minutes is NOT a lot to work with, but I tried to put four songs together in that time. It would be much appreciated if you could vote for me on Talenthouse! ![]() STEPS: 1.) Go to this link: http://www.talenthouse.com/creativeinvites/preview/a6e96ec5194e73c2ac22eec5e20b3567/234 2.) Choose to listen or not listen to my mix; either way, it's no big deal. If you do listen though, keep your volume a little low (hehe). 3.) Hit the "Vote with Facebook" or "Vote with Twitter" buttons on the right hand side of the page. You can also vote by texting "TH HM46GK" to 75572! Actually, doing all three of those would count as 3 votes! So do it! And that's it! NOTE, if you vote with Facebook/Twitter, Talenthouse will ask to get your information. I promise you that it won't spam you and it won't hack you; they only need your name to keep tally of the votes! So thanks again! Let's hope I win this time.

Hey so, I bought Atlus's latest game for the PS3/Xbox titled "Catherine" and I absolutely love it. Beat it in three days. But it's a short game, with only 20 hours of gameplay. Just wanted to know if anyone one else has played it.
For those of you who are unaware, it's a brilliant and unconventional romantic-puzzle-horror-philosophical-comedy game where you have to pick between your current girlfriend and the girl of your dreams. Depending on how you interact with NPCs and what type of text messages you send, your perspective on relationships changes, and it affects the course of the story. The most addictive part of the game is the puzzles, which start simple and become inexplicably difficult as you near the end of the game. I recommend you all to check it out and share some thoughts.

Alrighty well... I haven't logged on to this website in just about two years.
Damn, well... who's ever alive out there that used to know me and wanted to catch up, send me a Private Message. I'll Skype ya. In general... I don't Game Make any more. Rather I'm an underground DJ, guitar player, and top ranking brown kid at my school. Yeah that's what I do. High school's just about wrapping up, so before I completely change and forget this amazing website, I just wanted to give a shoutout. If you were involved in the creation, maintenance, or growth of this website 64digits, give yourself a hand. Somehow even with v3 never happening, this place kept us active and interested. We had our own inside jokes, and it's been fun reading all the old posts. So yeah, peace. Send me a PM or actually, you can add my AIM name which is Axias14. Toodles. ~ Azure

'ello everyone. It's been a while since I posted a blog, so here we go. [rambling]
Alright, so it's summer vacation for us folk, and I've spent my entire summer so far in India (yes, i got family down there). So it's really boring, but I have my PS2, and this ancient Win98 that runs GM6. So what have I been working on? Alright well I'm trying to combine Kingdom Hearts with Quake III Arena. The outcome? ![]() Posts are greatly appreciated. I'm trying to make this as close to the Quake III "Unreal Tournament"-styled game, however sticking to Kingdom Hearts grounds. It features: Weapon / Quake Reference - Keyblade (Always Present) - Bow & Arrow - Wand/Staff - Axel's Fire Wheel Including Larxane's thunder claws (next update). It's come really well so far. Sorry for not having ripped character sprites though. There's a sprite topic regarding it here. Please contribute and help out: http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=388379 It's a really good game so far, trust me. Also, I saw the Dark Knight just today, in India (not dubbed). :D It's a masterpiece; I won't spoil for those who haven't seen it, but if you plan to watch it, you need to see it in theaters first. It has a few breath-taking moments, masterfully schemed plotlines, and Morgan Freeman! :D Do see that movie and help Heath get his posthumous (award after death) Oscar. I'll be back in chicago by August 20th. kthxbai

I felt like putting up some recent news on 64Digits. These are new articles (cited) which are a little different that most.
Here you go. My first edition of 64News. German parents post baby on eBay for 1 euroBERLIN, GERMANY -- Authorities in southern Germany have taken custody of a 7-month-old boy after his parents posted an ad on eBay offering to sell him for one euro, or about $1.60. Police spokesman Peter Hieber says the baby was placed in the care of youth services in the southwestern Allgaeu region. Hieber said on Saturday that the mother told police the Internet ad was only a joke. Authorities have begun an investigation into possible child trafficking against the parents. URL: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24804721/ ............... My thoughts: Wow, this one isn't really surprising. I mean, I've heard all sorts of stuff go on eBay (like that sandwich with Jesus' picture on it); some one was bound to auction a child sooner or later. The funny thing is that no one was willing to buy the child. And a price of one euro really makes this one somewhat an oddity. 'Harry Potter' actor fatally stabbed in LondonA teenage actor who will appear in the forthcoming "Harry Potter" movie was stabbed to death in a brawl outside a south London bar early Saturday, police said. Rob Knox, 18, was caught up in a fight outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup just after midnight, London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement. The teen's death, less than two weeks after another youngster was brutally slain only a few miles away, has focused the British capital's attention on knife crime. Knox plays Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in "Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince," the sixth cinematic installment of the wildly popular Harry Potter series, set for release this fall. Warner Brothers said it was shocked by the news. URL: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/24808304/ ............... My thoughts: I am a fan of some of the Harry Potter films, mostly the earlier ones, and this did shock me as well. This kid didn't seem to have a big role, but a death is a death. The full article shows some statistics regarding stabbed-to-death rates in England, as well as a comparison to homicide rates in the US. Again, I pity Rob; nonetheless, I anticipate the arrival of the new Harry Potter movie. Random Image![]() This is dubbed "The Gates of Hell". Share your comments below. |
