Final Fantasy III
Posted on December 05, 2006 at 01:09
Well, my birthday has come and gone, and I got my self a few gifts. Or I should say, ripped the paper off the boxes of the gifts that were given to me. Here is the list.
A generic gift card. A white shirt. A white shirt. A white shirt. A white shirt. A plad shirt. A plad shirt. A C++ beginers book. A great 3D modeler. Pokemon Blue Mystery dungeon. And Final Fantasy III. So far, I plan on useing that gift card to buy my self some more games, I'm wearing one of those white shirts, the plad shirts are somewhere else. I just used the 3D modeler somewhat, and it will become very useful. I've looked through the C++ book a little, and I've played both games. While it may not look like much, but it was a great birthday for me. I'll be playing the games some more, but I have school in the morning. In other news, I showed a friend some of the "Games" I made, and he was laughing like crazy. Why? I don't know. ~BenRK FFIII.
The next time you see me, I'll be right here.

Well, schools out for the week, and thats not because of the snow. No school on friday is normal for me. And hey, it snowed. This place hasn't seen snow since 2002, at least snow that lasted longer than 2 hours. This snow has been on the ground for several days, and a fresh layer came down this morning through afternoon.
Well, in other news, I hate myspace. Why? Because, to me, it looks like a place about nothing that you go around yelling at people "I FRICKEN LIVE ON So-and-so ST IN Some-City/town/etc!!!! LOOK AT MY FACE YOU 40 YEAR OLD MAN!!!" I plan on going onto every single computer at school and making a different account for every computer and yell at people in my town. I expect I'll find 99% of the school. And 80% of those people wont hide their location, and 70% will give their full name. And once one computer gets banned from the site, I hop on over to another one, and repeat. This should be fun. ~BenRK It's good to be back.
The missadventures of FFIV

Main dude: Lets beat the game!
Final Boss: Buncha bolts! Everyone on team : We dead! Seriously, I don't understand it, but I can't beat that final boss for Final Fantasy IV. Every time I start that battle, I go in and he kills most of my people right off the bat, then kills the others in a turn later. Why must that happen. My sister beat him, and she is only 3 levels higher than me, and that was AFTER she won. What am I doing wrong? I can't steal the dark matter from him, so I don't know if that will help. And it's a pain to even get to a point called "Unable to steal." Whats the problem? What am I doing wrong? I have all the weapons, I have all the armor. Why do I die so quickly? Anyway, other than that fact, I'm doing ok. I really have nothing else to say except I'm at a Game Maker block, yet again, and my birthday is on Sunday, the 3rd of December, and I have no idea why. None. I also passed the 2000 hit mark. Yay! ~BenRK I also hope to get FFIII for the DS on that date.
Wait, I remember now!

... and thats all I have to say about Thanksgiving.
In other news, I wached a total of 2 movies this morning through afternoon. Grimlins, and DeepImpact. Grimlins is a family favorite, well, at least a favorite for my older brother. But he dosen't live in this house, and hasn't since last year. Thus meaning I got the room to my self. Anyway, I wached and enjoyed these movies, mostly because Grimlins had more than 24 minutes of story line, and DeepImpact was only about 45 minutes of light show. So today has been a lazy day for me and a majority of my family. How about yours? I also got MSN yesterday. That was the hardest sign up for anything that I've had to do. The only thing that took longer to do was registering for Game Maker, but that was only because I had to wait a few days. MSN was just stupidly hard and long. I think I'll stick to AIM as my main IM. In Game Maker news, a FPS maybe right round the corner. And I do hope my plots are origional. ~BenRK Dude, I have a Dell!
Whats the holiday called again?
Posted on November 22, 2006 at 21:52
Well, as we all know, at least for the people in the USA, which is at least a good portion of us, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. A day where we celebrate with food and what we are thankfull for this year, or some related to that. Me? I'll most likely be sitting at this computer, chatting and Game Makering. I never really liked Thanksgiving, partly for the fact that I'm never hungry on the last Thursday of November, and partly for the fact that I HATE (WITH THE HATRID OF A THOUSAND WII OWNERS WHO INSIST ON BASHING OTHER GAME CONSOLES) cranberry sauce. I just hate anything with cranberry in or around it.
So, this Thanksgiving, remember that not all of us like this holiday, and would prefer it to just be a day with much less food and thankfullness for all the wrong reasons. We should be thanking the Native Americans that live in Maine. In Game Maker news, the usual. ~BenRK The onlything I AM thankfull for about this holiday is getting out of school for the next 4 days.

Today, I was not sick, so I got to go to school. Oh goody, what fun I had. I got to fix my geometry teacher's computer. Well, fix in the sense that I pointed out that his computer clock was wrong, and then he asked me to take off Norton Anti Virus from the system. That was easy, way to easy. Really. If I didn't know he was a sports coach and health teacher as well, I would have thought him behind in the times, but coaches rarly know how to use a computer beyond a slightly sheltered pre-teen. Aka, install programs, run programs, write stuff, turning the system on, and turning it off.
I was a sheltered pre-teen in my pre-teen years, so I should know. Anyway, my PC Support teacher started asking what kind of RAM I have. I'm not supprised she asked, seeing as I always complain about it in class. I said I don't know. I find that this computer can hold a gig of RAM, but to hold that much, I need 2 512MB sticks. You know, 512MB in it self would be a good improvement for this piece of junk. I can't help but think some more RAM is right around the corner. And speaking of RAM, a friend recomended downloading FreeRAM XP Pro. So I did. While I had low RAM to begin with, it's still good to see something clear it up every now and then, and good to see how much I have to spend. Currently, I have... let it go through it's thing... 64MBs of RAM to spend, with InternetExporer running, Game Maker, and AIM. I had only 21MBs before it ran through it's thing. Once I get more RAM, I should start seeing a bigger difference. In Game Maker news, I think I might work on a Pet game for the desk top (It's not like it's been done before, riiiiiiiiight?). Thats about it for today. Lets see how much my RAM jumps after I submit this, huh? ~BenRK It went down to 47MBs.
And so, it begins

And so, it begins. But thats all for the console war in this blog. Though I can't say for the comments.
Anyway, I finaly decided to get sick, so now I'm listening to The Sims Bustin' Out music that I downloaded last night, because I was board. And I'm also trying to make some items for my copy of The Sims (not The Sims 2, seeing as it would never run on this computer untill I update it). It's very tricky to make a fridge that looks like the one in my house. Now I'll make a plastic bunny that acts like a flamingo. In game maker news, I'm sick, so I might get something done. I also plan on being sick tomorrow, that is if I don't become not sick. Um... Yeah, ok. It's hard to fill up these blogs. Sim Copter and Sim Isle are good games. ~BenRK So is Sim City (all of them), SimTower, The Sims, etc.
Nothing about everything

As Daniel Handler would say, please don't read this. Why? Because in one paragraph about the Wii, other than this one. So please stop reading now if your uneasy about Nintendo, Game Maker, and pizza.
Well, the Nintendo Wii comes out tomorrow. I wonder who will win. Tomorrow is the begining of the end. No one makes much hype about the PS2 VS GCN, because over all, the GCN is a better machine. I hope the Wii dosent go the way of the GCN. In Game Maker news, I've been working for a little over 6 hours on TankWARZ, and here's a screen shot of what I have done for that 3D game of mine. ![]() I hope to make this one online, though I need to know how to use the 39dll, and how to work multiplayer over all. And I also don't want to program AI, because there is so much to look over SO FAR. And thats about it for today, have a good night sleep. ~BenRK Wait, there was nothing about pizza.
2006: a game odyssey
Posted on November 17, 2006 at 17:20
To meanings for the same sentance, but I'll go with the rip off first.
Today, I decided to watch a moive. But not just any old movie, some movie older than FredFredrickson and younger than Marc Overmars. I'm talking about 2001: a space odyssey. And what a movie it was. All 2 hours of music and color, and 24 minutes of story line. After sitting through the entire movie, the thing I said right after was "What?" For those of you who've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who haven't seen it, basicly the end is a light show with some African chants. A light show for no real reason what so ever. And no explenation was given why Dave turned into some alien star baby at the end. As for not related to space, PS3 came out today here in the north America. I did not go out to get one, but this I SWEAR is not opinionated. For those of you who watched the news longer than 10 minutes this morning, news about violence out side stores. And can you guess what this violence is about? Well, you'd be dumb if you didn't know what the big deal is. PS3 causes crime! And I'm offended by the news person for calling PS3 owners "Hardcore gamers" while calling Wii owners not "hardcore gamers." But those feelings aside, it's still day 1 for the PS3 VS Wii here in NA, and I really want to see how this turns out. In other, Game Maker news, I finaly found a use for this tank 3D model I've had for over a year. A tank game! The most thought up of games! Though I don't plan on this being a HT3D clone or any other tank game clones, so I thought up a not new title. TankWARZ (name subject to change). ~BenRK Who will win? A pie eating contest? Or a hotdog? YOU DECIDE!
That was odd

Ok, true story. Several weeks ago, I lost my highschool planner. I never really needed it too much, so I didn't think much of it. Well, skip on over to today. I decided to leave my geometry class 5 minutes earlyer (I leave at 10-15 minutes earlyer normaly, to go and work in the lunch room), so I could get a new planner. I walked into the office and asked for a new one. While waiting for them, this guy offered me a piece of cake. It was being handed out, and it was fine, seeing the principal was standing right there. So I took it. So, basicly, I lost my planner and got some cake.
In game maker news, my friend wants me to help him with a graphing program. All fine by me, I could make one my self easly with all this geometry I'm learning, the only problem is that the Y is oposite that of geometry. Um... I just fixed that. Simple and easy to fix. ~BenRK Short and simple looses the race. |
