I'm back and manlier than ever... well...
Posted on June 01, 2011 at 06:13

In true Magicman657 style, I wait several years to post a new blog entry and proclaim that I'm "back". Who knows, this time could be different :o

So I just finished beating Halo: Reach on Legendary Solo and I've got to say I'm pretty damn impressed with myself. Took about a day and a half and I feel like I'm now officially a real gamer.

On the other hand, even after that huge win pumping me up, it would seem that my manliness is actually in question thanks to HeroofTime55. Why? I downloaded all of My Little Pony and... I really like it :'(

A Hero's Return
Posted on May 26, 2009 at 14:27

I am back. And I couldn't have returned at a more desperate hour. (I'll get to that in a second). It's been a long time. I've been working part time, going to school, meeting people, all that jazz, and like I once said before, 64Digits never leaves you.

For those who haven't been playing along, this is a terrible time for our Cyber Nations alliance. I am very proud of the hard sacrifice and effort put forth by our members during these dark times. These guys have given it everything and more, where most players would have likely given up already. We are currently at war with a large portion of the world and it's not looking too good right now, but with any luck our allies will be able to get peace soon and we'll follow suite. (Speaking of 64D CN, what happened to our subdomain?) I am the official leader of the 64D CN alliance, as Herooftime55 was banned a while ago, so anyone interested in joining up can always talk to me and I'll help ya get set up. I have spent an absolutely ridiculous amount of CN money fighting this war and I will continue to do so until we're safe once again. I will continue to nuke the greater part of Planet Bob and hope that my fellow alliance members will do the same.

o7 64Digits!

Episode III: Return of the Magicman
Posted on September 04, 2007 at 18:11

So yea, I finally posted again. Been a while, indeed. What I've learned is simple. 64D is life. You can never escape it. No matter how hard you try, you will always come back to it eventually.

I just started classes at the local community college, learning html is... kinda fun, but nothing surprising. Calculus is the same as ever. Somehow I think I'll have problems relating to me and the not-doing of my homework, but we'll deal with that monster when we get to it.

I'm playing OGame :D Feel free to ship me some Crystal if you have an excess, I need plenty (1:231:6 ;P) I make way too much metal, so I just build lots of rocket launchers. Goal is to build a Deathstar as soon as I can, it's a long ways off but I'll get there eventually. Currently working on Bombers.

I came up with a cool idea for a GM game, but I need a wireless keyboard to do it because I use a laptop. Sounds weird, huh? I suppose it might unless you happened to know what I was thinking about :P The biggest problem I foresee is that I won't have enough motivation to actually finish it, which sucks because I don't want this idea to die.

tl;dr- Screw you, if you can't take 1 minute to read that then leave. (Hate too long; didn't read, but since I do Foreign Affairs in Cyber Nations I have to put up with it)

Best day of my life
Posted on May 23, 2007 at 22:04

Today has been one of the best days of my life
Tonight we had the academic award ceremony at the high school.

After about two and a half hours of waiting, I was the last person called up for an award. I received a scholarship for 2,500 dollars a year for 4 years for a total of 10,000 dollars. I couldn't believe it then, and I still am having difficulty. My mom and my grandparents were in tears when they heard it. I just wish this day would never end...

Glass window + hand = 2 days off from work!
Posted on February 25, 2007 at 21:12

Hey everyone... I'm aware my blogs recently haven't been all that updated, I just get busy/tired from work and school and never feel like writing anything meaningful.

Alright, so for everyone who thinks I'm an idiot, this will likely confirm that belief. Last Friday I got home from school, and my sister was unlocking the door to the house. So naturally, I try to push the door open by pushing on the glass part of it. The glass was about 1/4 inch thick, I think to myself, "There's no way it could break." Well, let me tell you, I was wrong. My hand went straight through the glass window and it shattered everywhere. I went upstairs immediately because the blood was running off of my hand pretty good. After picking out most of the visible glass shards, I ran it under cold water for about 15 minutes while waiting for my papy to get to my house (my mom had just had surgery on her wrist that day and couldn't drive). We wrap it up in a towel (it had stopped most of the bleeding by then) and drove up to a medical office called Redicare. After about 2 hours of waiting, the doctor (the only one there <_<) looked at my hand, had it x-rayed, and then finally told us he wasn't sure if there was any glass in the laceration on my hand, so 20$ and 2 hours later, there we were, having to go into the hospital to get it cleaned up. It took no more than 20-30 minutes at the hospital, the doctor looked at my hand and after 1 minute said there was no glass in my hand. It took about 3 minutes to get it stitched up (only 2). Afterwards, I had to get a tetnus shot, which took about 20 seconds. I received an excuse that said I shouldn't go back to work until today :). The funny thing is that the cuts from the glass didn't actually hurt at any point, the only thing bothering me is my arm is a bit sore from the tetnus shot.

Fun weekend indeed.

EB Games sucks majorly
Posted on February 18, 2007 at 20:06

Here I go, I'm very pissed off and feel the need to express why.

I went to EB Games the other day because I needed to buy the Diablo 2 Battle Chest so my expansion characters aren't deleted. I called up my friend to give me a ride, and when I get there, I find that they have 2 of the battle chests there. Ok, great, I ask to buy them both. Then, just as I'm handing him money (after he already rang up stuff), he says "Oh wait, show me ID." Now I'm 18, but because I don't have a car I haven't gotten a permit to drive so I don't have proof of birth. The part that pisses me off is that he wouldn't sell the crap to me even though he sold other crap before to my friend who took me there (who is only 17) and never asked him for ID.

Pissed off, I left and came back today. I had my aunt with me and she paid for the game. The guy took the box and opened it to check that the disks were there. He said they were. It cost 40 dollars (on the box), and when I tried to use my card he said the card only gave a discount on USED games, this was apparently a NEW game. I left and went to my grandma's house to watch the Daytona 500. When I got home, I opened the box up and the f***ing thing was missing the Diablo I disk and the Expansion disk. Everything else was there except the one frickin disk I needed the most. What kind of pathetic store has a NEW DIABLO II BATTLE CHEST and even CHECKS THE DISKS BEFORE HANDING IT TO ME that is MISSING DISKS FROM IT?

It's complete bull. I just tried calling the store and apparently they're closed at 6, so I can't even complain until tommorow. Keep in mind each day is 1 day closer to expired characters on the Expansion Realm. I am so angry right now it's not even funny.

Magicman speaks?!
Posted on January 31, 2007 at 22:21

After god knows how long, I've decided to do a super-update blog. I'll get through the last 2 months in 3 minutes or your money back.

I got a job at Dunkin Donuts after school.

We finished our chess season, and I was still 1st board (no one managed to kick me off that spot). I finished with a decent record of like 7 - 5.

I bought a Game Cube with SSMB and F-Zero GX.

I had been running a server of ROPW until it crashed and I'm still trying to fix it.

I finished up my first semester classes and got Honor Roll. Started my new schedule which is much worse.

I met a guy at Dunkin Donuts that somehow gave me the feeling that he was like an older version of me. Weird, but that's how it was.

The main reason I made this was because apparently some idiot noobs went looking through my file manager and distributed a gm6 file for my game that I had uploaded a while ago for people in Varpi to d/l. Yes, that was probably not a good idea but it still pisses me off and I probably will never use the uploader again.

Oh, and bring back the RPG >: (

Chess victory
Posted on November 09, 2006 at 18:21

As you may or may not be aware, I play on the chess team for my school (currently second board). Last year was a very bad year for me, with my record being like 2w 12l, but this year is going to be different. We played our first match today, and I finally broke my losing streak. I played a very tough game againt my opponent, and he resigned as I was about to promote 2 pawns. The game ended with less than 5 minutes on his clock, 15 remaining on mine. I played black and ended with King and 2 pawns to his King. The game was very tense and close right up until the end, and so today marks a great victory for myself and the team.

Edit- added random content because Melee requested it.

This week has been good for Democrats everywhere, with the Democrats suceeding in taking control of the Senate and House. We also have a new Secretary of Defense as well. I think this will be a step towards helping the nation fix Iraq in the near future.

Tetris Rox
Posted on October 09, 2006 at 23:30

Yea. I will just say that I totally pwn at Tetris and if Hero ever gets his game online I'll be more than happy to play y'all too. I won't spoil the suprise, but look for a new blog from Hero in the next day or two and you'll understand why I had to at least mention this.

In other news, Diablo II addicition has been slowly corrupting my time and energies so I haven't done all too much lately. I did learn how to play Tetris A on the piano today though, and I'm working on a small midi version (which is done basically but not good enough to release to public really). I came up with some really kick ass ideas (that are totally NOT influenced by D2 <.<), so I plan to overhaul the MagiQuest item system to allow for basically unlimited types of the same items. The forger class is going to have a lot of fun with item enchanting >:)

Oh, and Flashback, if you happen to get a chance, my computer screen needs cleaning. 30$ if you make it sparkle.

Psyche Experiment
Posted on September 01, 2006 at 17:27

My pysche class was experimented on. It was just... let me explain.

My teacher started by saying that blue/green eyed people are smarter than brown eyed people. She then proceeded to divide the class by eye color and giving us a sheet of characters that were going to be used ona spelling test immediately afterwards. Both sides received the same symbol translations. The sheet I was handed looked like this (as best as I can resemble it with ASCII):
A = _|
B = |_|
C = |_
D = ]
E = []
F = [
G = -|
H = |-|
I = |-

Simple enough. I looked at the sheet and immediately recognized it for what it was. That list is a bit hard to read, but some of you may already have an idea of what it is. We were told to learn the symbols on this sheet however we wanted (besides writing it down). After 1 minute, we put them away and took a spelling test with 5 simple words. I, having figured out how it works, got 5/5 right. The scores were tallied for each side and were 2.3: brown, 4.29: blue/green. How can this be? Well, then both sides were allowed to see the other's sheets. The symbols were the same, but the blue/green side's sheet was organized in such a way that made the pattern obvious. I will show you below what it looked like:

A | B | C
--+--+--
D | E | F
--+--+--
G | H| I

Letters arranged on a tic-tac-toe board (also known as the pigpen code). The point of the experiment had nothing to do with eye color. Teachers give students information and don't connect it to the big picture or concept in a way that shows how everything relates (like the blue/green group's sheet). Instead, they give information in ways like the brown group's sheet.

So, this simply proved to myself that I am actually smarter than most people because I don't need the information organized, I am completely capable of doing it myself :P Explains why I always do so much better than most everyone else in every other class I've ever had <.<
