NDI is BACK!
Posted on August 29, 2008 at 00:26

Nth Degree Innovation Studios, while being a part of the 64Digits Community for a good length of time 2 years ago, finally came back today. We finished our new game ORION, which can be found on the front page or in our Games section (of course). We're proud of it, and we're already working on a sequel.

More importantly, we're working on a sequel to HUE, which everyone seemed to love. This new one features a lot more challange than the old one, but retains the original gameplay.

Anyway, what we've been doing for the last couple years is movie making! We're a freelance film company, but we still make films for ourselves, which can, of course, be found on our Youtube channel. Hope you'll check us and what we've been doing out and tell us what you think. Honest feedback is the best policy! Thanks!

Screening it out
Posted on April 08, 2007 at 14:59

So, since NDI is a two-man team, we've had to work through some difficulties as far as sending games back and forth etc. etc. BUT, one of the biggest difficulties that I have personally encountered is screen compatability. I work off of a laptop with a much bigger monitor than his desktop. As such, things will be perfectly square on his computer, but wacked out on mine. This usually only has to do with font size. His computer will display font yay-big and it'll fit perfectly in his game window. But on mine, it shows it as YAY-big and will almost never fit. So, we end up compromising on something that looks, well, pathetic on most occasions. I've noticed this sometimes on games I download here. The font will be wacked out and I can never get the full story of the game. (To me, story is one of the most important things). Anyway, does anyone else happen to have this problem and know perhaps how to fix it?

GM: The Movie
Posted on October 12, 2006 at 00:56

Has anyone ever thought about making a movie in Game Maker? I mean, sure, it's for making games, duh, but it could be done, if the right people would do it. You know, the coders, the GM experts, etc. It's a serious possibility.

In NDI news, we've been doing really well on our site.

freewebs.com/nthinnovation

we've gotten into film making quite a bit, and just finished our talk show Breakfast with Jesus (dont worry, it's funny, not serious. Satire)

We've been really busy with school and stuff, so we really havent had time to do much. We're working on a couple projects, Ion, Etch-A-GM, and a Twilight Zone spoof for our next movie.

And, FYI, the whole topic of GM: The Movie was not a hint that we were going to do it. Just a suggestion to anyone looking for something really really cool to do.

Partilce Example Central
Posted on September 07, 2006 at 22:40

Why are there so many particle examples being submitted lately? I cant log on without seeing another one up there. Sure, they're cool, but they all kinda get old after a while. No offense to the creators. You guys do GREAT jobs out there. But, I've just been seeing a LOT of them lately.

In game-related news, PP2: PPADV has been accepted, and it's on the main page, so please check it out. And we've finished another game, which is a remake of Master of Six Magics, that is still in Queue. We're working on a couple of other projects, but they arent making too much progress because of school and stuff.

Also, Phoenix Technologies has changed its name to Xanz Studios (just cause it's so much cooler than "Phoenix Tech". So you'll see that name now along with Cytoplasmic Studios.

Our site is up and running, so if you'd all be so kind as to check it out, that'd be awesome.

Other than what's been said, I dont think I have much else to say for this blog.

Oh, one more thing: what's with the obsession with "1337"?

What exactly is the difference?
Posted on September 03, 2006 at 23:09

I always think it's funny how different communities tend to be liked more than others. Myspace is more popular than Friendster, 64D seems to be more liked than GMC, etc. Why?

Well, I think it's the feeling of community. For example, at GMC, it's not a feeling of community as much as it is for 64D. Here, it's got more depth. Better people, badges for things, having your games showcased instead of put into a forum post. Here, it seems like more of a friendly place, and honestly, i'd rather be here.

Does anyone else feel the same way? I mean, surely there has to be opinions about it. Which do you guys like better? 64D, or GMC, or any other forum? Why?

Also, in game-related news, we've finished PowerPlanet 2: Powerplanet Advanced (or just PowerPlanet ADV. for short). If you guys liked the first one's concept, but had problems with stuff like gameplay and stuff, it's all fixed. Graphics, sound, gamplay (now there's an Easy and Hard mode). And if you guys havent played the first one: please do. Though it has its problems, it's still a good idea that we've expanded on. We're going to upload that one soon.

We've been searching through old WIPs, and are finding a couple we might want to expand on. A platformer, an arcade game that deals with gravity, maybe a SWAT game. But, who knows. We're trying to find innovative ideas, but at the moment, because of school, we're forced to focus on other things (like girls, duh).

Last Day of Freedom
Posted on August 27, 2006 at 18:25

Before school starts for us. So, we're not really going to be able to do much GM wise. But, we'll try to finish a couple WIPs. Is everyone else starting school tomorrow too, or is everyone still free, or is everyone already in school?

Advances to site.
Posted on August 17, 2006 at 23:44

On our website. They're just the links to this site's access to our games, but it's a start, nonetheless. We've also expanded the whole site, so I guess you could say it's not under construction anymore.

Also, we're maybe going to make some remakes of some games, like Powerplanet, for starters. So, if you guys have any tips or suggestions and such, we're all ears.

And, dont worry, we'll be posting regular blogish blogs soon. Just... trying to get started for now, that's all.

Nth Degree Site up

Hi everyone. We've finally made our website, though it lacks any games at the moment. If you'd like to be an "affiliate", just send a message, and we'll be happy to post your banner on our site.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions, comments, or hate mail, please, feel free.

Thanks again!
