<STARTED> Minecraft Survival Marathon
Posted on May 10, 2012 at 12:42

This Saturday, May 12th, at 21:00GMT (Equivilant times hidden below.), 64digits will be hosting a Minecraft Skylands Survival Marathon.

We'll be generating a brand new world and turning off all mods on the server. In addition to this, we've decided to change things up a little this time around to make things more exciting:

- We'll be using the Teamspeak server to communicate with eachother while playing. If you've never used Teamspeak before, here's instructions on how to join and set it up:
http://www.64digits.com/users/index.php?userid=Stevenup7002&cmd=comments&id=272745

- Instead of using a default world, we'll be running JeremyDF93's Skylands Mod, which will generate a world that's split into a series of floating islands, creating fun and dangerous new challenges. Skylands gives "Don't dig straight down" a whole new meaning. We'll need to work together to build bridges to other islands to avoid running out of resources.

I personally recommend that everyone hang out on teamspeak for the marathon. Even if you don't have a microphone, you'll probably be missing out on a lot of communication if you're not there. Of course, even if you don't have Minecraft, you can still hang around on teamspeak to chat with everyone, just like every other Saturday night.

Everyone is welcome to bring friends along, but you should PM me in advance with their usernames so they can be whitelisted.

Super Drunken Teamspeak Minecraft Survival Marathon Night Extravaganza Thing

Super Drunken Teamspeak Minecraft Survival Marathon Night Extravaganza Thing

In a few weeks time, we plan to have a "Super Drunken Teamspeak Minecraft Survival Marathon Night Extravaganza Thing". I've thrown out Saturday, May 12th, 22:00GMT as a good potential date/time for this in order to avoid exams. Obviously we don't want too many people to miss out, so if this is a bad date/time for too many people, we'll reschedule. Leave a comment on this post with a more appropriate date if you don't think you'll be able to make it then.

Also, feel free to share any ideas or suggestions you have for the survival marathon. An idea that Kilin had was to split everyone up into 4 man teams and have them go away separately and build their own settlements, and then potentially war and plunder each other after a few days of building. We could also do a creative marathon instead where we all work on a large project together. Or maybe another game of castle wars? Discuss below.

Your friendly neighborhood Minecraft/Teamspeak admin,
-Steve

Times:

22:00 GMT+1 (Sir Xemic and Iasper land)
21:00 GMT (UK and Ireland)

4PM EST (New York etc.)
3PM CST (Texas and such)
1PM PST (West coast)

Live Stream: Composing a piano sonata

Does exactly what it says on the tin, watch me struggle with music making for the next few hours:

Also, the justin.tv chat breaks a lot, so if I unintentionally ignore any questions you post in there, feel free to nag me on any other available communication channel until I answer them.

Enjoy,

EDIT: Done for now, might do more later, check back.

Concept Art for 64DRPG
Posted on April 16, 2012 at 10:47

Hey guys

I've been busy working on my 359th symphony in B-sharp minor Op. 3457 KV. 99,023,344 for 900 piece orchestra, choir and soloists on violin, piano, electric guitar and frying pan as commissioned by my grandma, but thankfully I managed to get a chance to scribble out some concept art to show you guys what I'm going for in my competition entry.

I'm not too happy with how this one turned out, but I think this will probably be the main character.

These guys came to me in a dream, I think I'm gonna make them enemies or something.

And these guys too.

Survival Marathon? Maybe not.

I hear that due to some structural changes to the site that ChIkEn and friends will be performing over the weekend, the site and the minecraft server will be up and down more times than my best friend's bipolar wife on a Monday morning. (heheh, I made a funny)

Due to this, I've been considering renting a temporary minecraft server for a few days and having a short survival marathon until we get things straightened out. I'm not going to do this unless a large amount of people are interested in playing, so please leave a comment below if you're interested in joining in.

Your resident minecraft admin,
-Stevenup7002

64digits Teamspeak Server
Posted on March 12, 2012 at 11:41

64digits now has its own private teamspeak server. Just join "64digits.com".

If you don't already know, Teamspeak is like an IRC for voice chatting. You join a server, join a channel in that server, and talk to the people in that channel using your microphone. Even if you don't have a microphone, you can still listen in and respond using text chat.

If you're new to teamspeak, here's how to set it up:

1. Go to http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads and download and install the Client.
2. Open Teamspeak 3 and complete the setup wizard. Under microphone settings, if you choose "Voice Activation Detection", your microphone will activate when you start talking, however, it may also activate when there is background noise. If you use speakers, do NOT choose this option. If you choose "Push-to-talk", you can assign a hotkey, which will activate your microphone when held down.
3. Click Connections>Connect
4. Under Server Address, type "64digits.com"
5. Under Nickname, type in your 64digits name.
6. Leave server password blank, and press connect.
7. Once connected to the server, double click on any channel to join.
8. Say hello!

If you're having trouble getting onto the teamspeak, let me know.

Enjoy,
-Steve

I'd like a sarcastic pigeon for next week
Posted on March 10, 2012 at 05:46

I tripped over a pigeon today in town.
It giggled and flew off, I wanted to kill it.
Seriously, I went into a mans shop and grabbed some pills and started at it.
"Stop attacking my pigeons you guy."
"Haha but he teach them lesson."
...
Then I got arrested.
I started crying profusely.
I'm not sure I even.

I lack the skill to get this ringing correctly.
...
I really do not like pigeons though.
I was nearly killed in St. Peter's Square twice.
I still have the scars on my shoulder

So yeah.
I love you orange08.

I made new music also.
...
But you're not hearing it haha.

Minecraft 1.2 Survival Marathon!
Posted on February 29, 2012 at 10:54

Minecraft 1.2 is supposedly being released tomorrow, so, as promised, we'll be starting a new map and be playing vanilla survival together for a week or so before returning to creative. If you'd like to bring any friends on to play with us, let me know in advance so I can whitelist them.

Ultimately, we'll see how it turns out, but I'd like to recommend that we all try to stick together this time to build one city, rather than wandering off and building a bunch of small, inactive ones. In my experience, it's much more fun when we all stick together.

We'll start at, 20:00 GMT (3PM on the east coast, 12PM on the west coast).

If anyone has any suggestions or questions, don't hesitate to ask below.

-Steve

EDIT: Note the new time, 2 hours earlier than previously scheduled.

Back due to popular demand (Iasper). Let's try this again for the next few hours.

http://www.justin.tv/selobrien (Sorry about the ad at the start, I don't think there's anything I can do about it, if there is, let me know)

Enjoy the cacophony,
-Steve
