Stop censorship?

The more you know.

I know this site not only includes people from the US. I still wanted to let those who didn't know and live here know what's going on. And how they can try to stop this bill.

To be honest, I know very little of this. But so far it doesn't sound like something I want passed.

God I hope this thing doesn't pass. I've been following it somewhat, and the very thought that it might chills the bones.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere that censored the internet.

yeah i've been following this for like a year now. the first attempt fell through i believe but this one is going to be voted on. this could be bad... i'm hoping they don't vote this shit in. it would destroy the internet. youtube, facebook, gameinformer, hell even YYG could be shut down since they all contain unlicensed use of copyrighted materials. it's not like the site owners can do much to moderate for such a thing. it's the site users that do this. you couldn't run a Youtube-like site and keep it 100% clean without banning everyone lol.

Something that I signed up for sent me a few email about this a while ago, I can't believe it's getting this far :S
If this passes, I'm leaving this country before I'm ready; I'll finish schooling elsewhere.

Yet another example of lobbyists buying a law.

Only communist Russia could pass a law like that. It goes against a lot of our constitutional amendments, and probably wont be too popular in congress. I wouldn't be too worried about it.

And we will have reason to kill Hollywood's lobbyists.

Have you considered immigration to Somalia? I'm not sure where you'd apply, seeing as they don't have, well, a government.

The same supreme court that banned limits on corporate campaign donations? I'mnottoosureaboutthat.

All we can hope for is that Google's lobbyists have more sway than do Viacom's. If not, then Tor save us all.

If this shit passes... it'll be a confirmation that the United States is a doomed country. Fascism doesn't live long.

If this shit passes... we're gonna have to clean up the server of anything we deem potentially infringing if we want to stay afloat. And FUCK...THAT...

Yeah, let's all go to a place across the ocean that speaks a different language and has a failing economy/currency when we could just go a few miles north to Canada instead.

And a country that probably even has more censorship than the United States.

The US (and probably Canada) are the only countries I know of with the most lax censorship (video game and internet-wise).
