Heh, I like the death animation. Would be a lot better if you could aim in different directions though.

The official 64DigitsInformer Review (As seen on the blog)

Platform Shooter
1 Player Shooter Example

In this nice little example we get a pretty clean platformer shooter engine. The deaths are smooth and fun to look at, and the shooting is simple. Complaints? Well, you can't exactly shoot anywhere except in front of you, and the walking, while a little too slow for my taste. Someone could definately use this if they're making a platforming shooter because it's really good. Everything works right, the graphics are smooth, and it's jumping works well too. All in all.

I give this one a 8.75/10 (9) (Eveything works right...but it seems a little uncontrollable. If you're making a platform shooter, I advise you to check it out!)

I found a glitch in this example! The AI is able to see through blocks!
This can be fixed by changing:
if not collision_line(x,y,man.x,man.y,block,false,false)
if collision_line(x,y,man.x,man.y,block,false,false) = -4
if collision_line(x,y,man.x,man.y,block,false,false) = noone

in both occurences.

Amazing. I like the graphics and the example is really well done. Too bad you didn't put all the gml in script. 8/10

Here's a few suggestions from a pro(hehe) on platform shooters:

Try to randomize the AI's shooting habbits.

Instead of having a sprite for left and a sprite for right, use image_xscale=-1 and image_xscale=1 to flip the sprite.

Have the enemies recoil back when shot

Okay... I'm going to add this to favorites. Not because It's good or not. Cuz I haven't tried it yet. But I really want to make a platform shooter. but I don't have the time to look at this right now. (:

What's wrong with GM6?
Is there any way to convert .GMK to a .GM6 without problems?
Because GM6 and GM7 are essentially the same.

My friend has GM7 so he showed me your game. Suweet.

First of all, people need to stop asking for gm6. Stop being cheap bastards and buy it already.

Second, this game looks very well made, except for the fact that I need to look at the code to figure out the controls. Would it kill you to just write something in the game info or something?

Otherwise, this is looking great. Keep up the good work!

Awsome! I'm going to add a rocket launcher to it! >:D

I need a sprite for it, though. :(
