Fish Throwing Example
Ahh... the joys of fish throwing...

now u can all make fish throwing games! =]

Target platforms:

The physics, though basic, are pretty nifty =)

That right there is straight ghetto-fabulous GM. 9/10 for oddity and usability. (I think I might use this, but you'll get muchos credit my fish-throwing friend! =D)

Fish...throwing? This is supposed to be useful...how?
But yeah, I agree with marbs. You've got interesting physics. And marbs is the one who does all the physics stuff.
I'm going to give it an 8.

Actually a lot of fun to play with, and I can see uses for it, as an example, I really like this.

OK, I lol'd when I saw and played this, so that's a 7/10 right there. Also the fish physics weren't too bad, so 8/10 :D

Great physics, but 0.o?

Not bad, could be useful if you're throwing explosives or something. Try doing this is Step Event:
image_alpha -=0.05
{
if image_alpha <=0
instance_destroy()
}

This would get the fish to disappear so it doesn't clutter the room or possibly make it lag if you threw enough XD. 8/10, nice example.

Also, I couldn't help it, so I saved it for future use. This engine is very good for novices like me to learn from with the use of implemented variables and player made variables. I think most if not all parts are made from GML which would benefit coders even more.

Iluvfuz I don't think image_alpha is allowed below 0 anyway :P
(of course found out by using 0.03 and stuff in previous projects..)
And yar that's a quite nice their fish throwin thing. I wish it could bounce twice though or bounce based on speed and angle instead of wether it is spinning. I would give you 7/10 but because it looks so useable and fun:
9/10

This is what good examples are even with the absence of an interface.

this example is really good, I like the physics, infact I may have stolen them to be used as grenades

Okay, I tried this code, and it worked out nicely.
In Step Event:

Code

if stop = true
 {
 image_alpha -=0.05
 }
if image_alpha <=0
 {
 instance_destroy();
 }

I know image_alpha isn't allowed below 0, otherwise it is completely invisible. If you only do:

Code

if image_alpha = 0
 {
 instance_destroy();
 }

then it's possible if you're subtracting something like 0.04 from image_alpha every step that it goes under 0. If it goes under zero, the code will not delete it, leaving it simply an invisible instance. Even if it is invisible, a number of invisible fishies can cause lag.

The word "stop" is a variable already implemented. Without it, the fish would disappear most likely before you even throw it. Mind if I use it for a game? Tell me if you require credit or not, thanks!

10/10 for usuability and nice physics too. 10/10
