Welcome to Japong !
It's a new way to play pong, based on jump, rapidity and skills.

Watch it on youtube :

* Win the 12 matches (alone or with a friend) and access a hidden last stage.
* Play with your friends : up to 4 players, lots of options.
* Great 2D animated sprites and backgrounds.

Rules :
1 - A match is played best of 5 sets.
2 - Get the ball through the opposite goal to win 5 points.
3 - If the set ends with no goal, you win as many points as bricks destroyed.

Features :
* Easy mode : easier AI, automatic paddle, unlimited double-jump
* full learn and practice sequence to get into the game. (v1.1)
* double-jump or reverse-jump (you can play upside-down too)
* 8 bonus : learn the best way to use them.
* 3 different game speed (in exhibition mode)
* Offensive or defensive opponents from easy to beat to very hard (but possible)
* Precision mode : activate the paddle at the precise moment of hitting the ball to gain speed or raise your score.
* Ball spinning (slice - lift) : invent your own techniques to surprise your opponent and break his timing.
* 4 locations + 1 hidden.
* 8 characters + last boss.
* saving, continue, and challenging scoring system.
* Controllers set up ( F3 )

The game is designed to be played with joypads or arcade sticks.
Actually you can play with keyboard, just like you can play the piano with box gloves on : you won't play well :)
Please note that the game is hard and won't let you win without a bit of practice.

Have fun !

Otherwise, Cor that WAS professional! All of it was great, the graphics. Even the idea was fun. But there are way to many tutorial speechboxes.

Very nicely done and very professional looking.. but the learning curve was too great, so it only gets an 8/10 from me.

You can play with keyboard, you just can't win with it :)
Too many tutorial speechboxes, sorry about that. Actually I don't read tutorials in games so I was not overwhelmed with joy about writing one !
Thanks for all comments.

very very nice, it has that 'arcade' feeling to it, which is sometimes hard to reach. good job on that. further than that, funny music, good graphics, and it's actually pretty fun to play.. what did I say? I'm going play some more! hehe good job. a 8!

Technically, it's not inappropriate, but I guess a PM would've been better

Really amazing! Looks like a real professional game...well the ones with 2D graphics still atleast, lol. Really good game idea too, although the controls were a bit weird. 9/10

Well, that was a nice surprise! This was actually a rather neat little game. Apart from the obviously long tutorial (which I skipped anyway after learning the basics, so no big deal), the game had hardly any problems. I think that the concept is excellent, even though the game is a little hard. Still, the graphics are perfected, the gameplay is stunning and it's a long-lasting game. Very nice job, I think you did very well with Ja-Pong!
