GMPaint
Made by Ross

GMPaint is a program I made to recreate Paint into Game Maker. Below is a list of the functions now included in this particular version of GMPaint:

-Spray Paint: Uses a nice little spray paint effect, and the larger you set the size, the further spread out the drawn points of it are from each other. You can also change the alpha value for the color it uses.

-Paintbrush: Draws a rounded off line. The line's width and alpha can be set using their corresponding meters.

-Pen: Draws a more "blocky" line, and it is not rounded off. Once again, the size and alpha can be set for this line.

-Eraser: Erases anything drawn. You can customize how large the eraser is using the size meter.

-Zoom: Creates a square magnifying glass that lets you get a closer look at any particular part of the canvas.

-Color Picker: Allows you to select any color already drawn on the canvas.

Outside of these functions, GMPaint includes the ability to save your pictures as .jpg's or .bmp's. You may also start from scratch at any time, and you can make it show gridlines so that you can make basic charts. These gridlines are not saved with the picture, and can be adjusted in size and alpha value.

Nice job here, Ross. It mimics paint very well, and the functions work nicely. The Zoom should actually zoom in as well as preview the zoom area (Which is awesome. :D). But yeah, I don;t really see much flaws, so 10/10. =D

Very good, could had sworn I never opened up mspaint.exe lol.
Though as always in every mspaint app, spray point blows ass.

the alpha drawing is horrid. it needs to either draw a flat alpha while holding down mouse button, or slowly add to it, not right away go to a lighter version of the color you selected.

spray can = worst tool ever.
you can't even get to 1px size pencil = pointless to download.
you can't draw correctly. it just keeps making odd lines and angles.
and as marbs said, the zoom tool needs to be improved.
the point of zooming is so you can draw in fine detail.

Joseph, protip: people generally respond better to criticism when the person who criticizes doesn't come off as an asshole.

Joseph was fairly generous in his review.

This happens quite often. Try setting the 'room speed' to 9999.

Very true.

I couldn't switch from the colour picker or zoom to anything else,
and spray can button didn't appear to work.

-based on the screen shot, everything works fine. No rating.

could I take a look at your line drawing code? Whatever is drawing those thick lines looks like it is doing a very bad job at it.

When you try to copy a program that comes with the operating system, try not to release it until it is better than the actual program.

I have Paint. I also have 2 or 3 free image editors with features that Paint doesn't provide. This is simply abundant.

Hahahahaha, abundant. Hahaha.

Although I guess in a sense he's right, because there is an abundance of image editors. :)
