Flurry effect
I decided to make this as another test of ENIGMA, and I liked the effect, so here it is.

Zip includes compiled EXE and source file, since, sorry people, you're not gonna be decompiling it.

Not entirely sure if this works in R3 or not. Still ironing out some issues, including window caption and frame-rate dampening. (After I started porting to linux, I believe I screwed something up)

Either way, source is included so those with a computer that can magically run DirectX but not OpenGL can still see it.

Not entirely sure what works, but I believe the close button does, so I guess you're all set.

Not very interactive. Deal with it.

@screenshot: YOU'RE USING VISTA.

EDIT: Holy shit, this is amazing. 10/10

Actually, this is XP.

Don't need the trouble of getting GL to function on Vista to help me debug ENIGMA. ^_^

EDIT: Holy shit, this is amazing. 10/10

all it does is show how to use blend modes and image_alpha, and it isn't very in-depth.

looks nice and can run at 60 fps, though.

Make the target speed your monitor refresh speed!

_Player_ : I believe you're missing the part where josh spent a huge chunk of his mental prowess writing a GML to C++ system. AKA Enigmig.

Kiddo, that doesn't even look like Vista in the slightest. And no need to make a big deal about it.

Also, nice effect, Josh. Now let me wait since ENIMGMA and GM share a silly RAM issue.

I see retro still hasn't gotten over his ridiculous phobia of change.

As for the example, the .exe ran in Vista fine, and as it barely taxed the GPU, I'm assuming 60fps ^_^

10/10, because it's a shiny effect, and the "Nothing groundbreaking" factor is offset by the fact that it's compiled. Making it groundbreaking.

Yeah, that was the idea. I'ma not waste time throwing something truly amazing together. That was just to show off that my exe's are 100KB zipped. And like 300 unzipped. And 30 7z'd, for that matter.

In honesty, I'm still redoing a couple huge systems. This may fix whatever RAM problem Kilin just mentioned. If not, I'm not stopping until it does.

Thanks all.

I'm not using 2K anymore; I'm using XP.

Also, I do like a lot of parts of Vista, and may end up getting a new computer with Vista after SP1 comes out in, like four years. Although by then they'll probably just have four new operating systems that require actually buying a CD instead of Windows Updating.

SP1 came out months ago, thus, completely invalidating your argument because you have no idea what you're talking about.

Yes, but SP1 still sucks >>=[[[

Awesome! This is the first ENIGMA-made gm6 that actually works for me! This reminds me of my Mac OS X screensaver. 9/10

Ran pretty smooth here, ju.

Joshy, SP1 doesn't stand for service pack 1, it stands for SUPER POWER 1. Yeah, TELEKENISIS is MINE.

Vista probably won't get to SP2, however.

PY's right about Vista. I support him on this.

Josh, you do know all of your ENIGMA stuff works fine with it, right? So why complain?

Also, great effect. However, you changed the blend mode in a bad area, making it less usable at first glance. Try placing that bit in the flurry_disp object instead and it'll stop affecting everything else.

I liked Vista until it self destructed. Mouse touchy pad thing doesn't work, NTFS compression doesn't work, network manager broke, Firefox constantly crashes on only this machine, system tray broke, explorer is temperamental, sometimes crashing totally requiring a manual restart, taskman broke, it won't switch off, and I can't eject drives. At least "End Process" actually ends the process now, and the start menu is a bit nicer. And it's less fugly than XP. But we all know Gnome is where it's at in the interface department.
