It IS tough! When you do get to those creatures, it helps to stop and fire in both directions every 2 or 3 seconds. This will catch those enemies. Some of the jumps are pretty difficult, too. You will need a good running start and jump as you are half way off the surface you are leaving. Best luck to you!

Sorry, it's too hard for me. I think it's because of the controls and how the character moves. When I die it feels unfair. I think if you improve that it would be a game that I would like to play.

Thank you for the feedback. It is kind of difficult. I play tested it, and there are some areas that are just not easy. The game uses Multimedia Fusion 2.5's physic engine. Yes, the left side bar says GM 8, and that is a mistake. So, the sometimes character slips and even slides. I may see what I can do to reduce the difficultly. Again, thanks.

Muy difícil, debido al mal control, creo que deberías ajustarlo para hacer más intuitivo, la jugabilidad no debe ser un lastre...

Thanks for letting me know. I couldn't understand what you typed, so I had to use a translator. You mention that the controls are poor. I don't quite understand. What makes the controls poor? I didn't have any trouble with the controls. Please let me what was it about the controls that gave you problems?

After 15 minutes of playing I wasn't able to get past those bats in the very beginning. And I'm hardcore player type. Controls are just totally counter intuitive. Why can't you go on and off ladder just with 1 key? Why can't you jump with space? All time I tried to shoot with jump button and jump with shoot button. Couldn't get used to these controls. I feel like the game could be so enjoyable if not that controls. Also character is a little bit "over-weighted" :D Give him more speed maybe?

Please fix that issues, I think that game is really worth it. Now it feels like whole potential is lost because of that ;)

I have taken your commits under consideration. Because of your commits, I have made the following changes:
<Shift> now is for jumping
<Ctrl> is now for shooting
<Z> is used for BOTH getting on and off ladders
Your character is just a bit faster and jumps just a bit higher.
It takes a bit more time for some enemies to come. These include bats and wolves.
I hope this helps!

Circle was spelled wrong right in the folder the game comes in. That's usually a good sign. Anyway, game is too hard due to awful controls. There is no good reason to not allow shooting while moving and the delay from stopping to shooting is far too long. The jumping was clunky as well. At first I couldn't even tell the pitfalls were pitfalls since the tiles used were so damn bright I thought it was part of the foreground.

All of the graphical assets are at different resolutions, really shows off the craftsmanship on this project. All the character sprites seemed to be of completely different styles, most likely taken from another game. All of that could have been forgiven if the game was any good but the challenge mostly comes from bad controls and only having 3 lives to play through the game. I died 3 times on the first boss and quit the game after being sent back to the beginning, which isn't a very long distance but not really anything I'm willing to do twice. 4/10

The graphic assets come from the 8-Bit pack, which is available in the Click store. You can reach this at The graphics of the characters come from The credits, that we see at the end of the game, mention this.

As for your other comments, I will keep them in mind.

Quick and simple? More like Slow and hard.

Sure, while all sprites are OK to use, they don't match for five cent... if they were the same style, this game would've been much more enjoyable. Honestly, harm intended, I wouldn't have played this game if it wasn't for the obligatory voting, because it looks so unprofessional.

With that said, gameplaywise... if you make a game with finite extra lives, you oughta add in a system where you can get more extra lives. Or at least a highscore system so you get a visible indication that you're getting better with each game over. Right now the player is forced to repeat already done things in order to progress, and, well, it's not fun to do something you've already done. I'm not a huge fan of coin feeding, but right now you're not really having a game encouraging people to play it.

Controls are needlessly clunky, too. I mean, even Iji could shoot when walking. Right now, the penalty for shooting enemies is so high... heck, even having a penalty for shooting in an action game isn't good for a start!

I'll give it a 2/10 for the obvious effort that's been put into this.

DUDE! Harm intended, REALLY? O.K., you so have some problems with this game, but you don't have to hit below the belt. There is a lot here that I can take under advisement. You should be an update with a couple of days. I will try to address the issues which both you and Death mentioned…...

For the graphics, I would personally recommend you to draw everything yourself. Trust me, even if the quality of each sprite is lower, the game as a whole will look a LOT better if everything is in the same style.

And I'm not a dude, BTW.

O.K……thank you for your feedback. Again, you should see an update in a couple of days or so. The idea of drawing sprites, myself is not a bad one. I will TRY to see if a can re-work at least some of the graphics. I will also try to improve the controls. Agains, thanks.

ALRIGHT.....Here is the update to this game
1) I was able to improve some of the graphics. My personal graphic drawing ability is poor. That is why I used the resources that I did. I am NOT able to redo all of the graphics, but I was able to somewhat rework many of the background graphics.
2) The player's character rate of fire is now a bit more.
3) I was not able to get both, firing and moving, at the same time, to work right. I tried, but the result was the animations being messed up. This is mostly true of the walking animation.
Please understand the following.
1) You can NOT change directions in the middle of a jump. How far you go in a jump is the result of your running start. If you wish to clear a large jump, get a good running start, first.
2) The reason you need to press "Z" to get on and off ladders, is because MMF 2.5 gets goofy with how ladders work. In most cases, the character of ANY game your try to create with MMF 2.5 will not be able to jump past a ladder. That's because MMF 2.5 treats ladders like platforms. So, I had to create a way for the player to be able to jump past a ladder.

I hope this helps.

This game is reminiscent of an old Amiga game called 'BEAST' by psygnosis. It was extremely difficult.

I'm not going to get into quoting everything everyone else says on this topic: Except about the ladder issue. It simply needs to be fixed. Other than that; It's not a bad game considering the beforehand warning about the difficulty. As far as the graphics go; I've seen many people use other peoples work in their games and that does not bother me. Though, it is true that originality should be used if possible . I understand that art will not be everyone's strong point when getting an idea across. In fact, this should of been stated in the documentation not at the end creds. Especially, with a game difficulty such as this.

All I can say is to keep tweaking this and you will find a niche.

Good luck, and best regards: Mrpete.
