Platform Shooting Engine

This is a platform shooting engine that I am putting together. It is currently a work in progress, which means that this game may have some glitches and may be a bit slow. You can probably combine this with another platform engine. Just to let you all know, I still check the comments for this. I still want to hear positive and negative criticisms. Go ahead and comment away!

DESCRIPTION
In the example, you can use a PPK, an MP5k, and a Desert Eagle. You can shoot the dummies for some target practice.

CONTROLS
Arrow Keys to move (up to jump)
Right Mouse to shoot
Arrow keys to toggle dummy's facing direction
<Shift> to toggle Slow Motion

INFORMATION
For a complete list of current and future features, look at my Projects Page.

Kanelbullen commented March 01, 2007 at 8:42 AM
Very nice i like it but i think the you would aim to the mouse it's very easy to fix
headless commented March 01, 2007 at 9:01 AM
nice. I agree with Kanelbullen, mouse aim would be cool 8/10

The guns and slowmotion are cool 7/10
rustudios commented March 01, 2007 at 2:37 PM
the fire efects ar good..its 7/10 but a give you 8/10...
gtvg commented March 01, 2007 at 3:18 PM
It's ok. I don't get the point of the sight, though. Plus the guns should show up even when you are not shooting. And, most of it is in D&D. THe slomo is cool.
7/10

Wtf this is weird.
Aistarin commented March 01, 2007 at 8:50 PM
This is actually a WIP. How do I submit this as one?
abacus commented March 01, 2007 at 10:15 PM
interesting. would be better to use code than dnd
Kaz commented March 01, 2007 at 10:36 PM
You select WIP when submitting it.

How is this mouse based? Space is fire, and that only fires in the direction you're aiming.

I'll give it a 6/10.

This was decent. It got REALLY laggy at some point for reasons unknown. It was kinda fun to fool around though. Overall, I guess it's not bad.

The lag was terrible though...but this deserves an 8/10. I give you that!

I think you accidentally pressed <shift>. When you press it, it toggles "Slo-mo".

lol this game is cool, its funny because luigi has a gun.
Radnom_Games commented May 24, 2007 at 8:37 AM
It's alright - pretty darn simple at the moment, but it's in early stages, right?
Aistarin commented May 24, 2007 at 9:56 PM
exactly
jsorgeagames commented June 02, 2007 at 11:52 AM
Very nice effect. Did you use lengthdir for the position of the flash?
jsorgeagames commented June 02, 2007 at 11:54 AM
Hmm, I'll give it a 9/10. The only thing bad was the speed of the jumps - if they're too fast and too high, it's nearly impossible to get to some platforms. But who cares? It's great.
LunchTime commented June 24, 2007 at 11:30 PM
420 downloads....anyways this example is turning out pretty good. 8/10
Aistarin commented June 25, 2007 at 1:59 AM
Thanks, Slash.
lol, 420 Downloads!

I'm impressed, this engine would work well in an actual game. My only criticism right now would be that the PPK animation is sorta slow.
Majatek commented April 30, 2008 at 4:09 AM
This is coolnes. I like the slo-mo effect once pressing shift, you can see him fire the bullet, and his arm will go-up slowly, matrix style. 7-10'd

BTW, this game file is older than your screenshot. I can tell, since the game does not have that shotgun in there. :(
Majatek commented April 30, 2008 at 4:11 AM
If you only had that shotgun, I would give it an 8. :|
Ferret commented May 05, 2008 at 11:21 PM
WOW! I have something that I made just like it with the head moving and everything! it wasn't an example, but a full on game... I never submitted it, because I always felt it wasn't good enough... but really I think that my friend Crane Games keeps on depressing me by saying it's bad...

Oh ya your example! it's good, it's basic stuff but we all needed it at one time... 8/10
