GTA example WIP

This is a short GTA example that I made about two years ago. Its currently a work-in-progress. In the example it shows how to make fairly basic pedestrian AI (it sucks), and how to get in and out of a vehicle, while changing the view from the player to the Object ID of that specific vehicle.

Controls:
-Directional keys move the player
-<Ctrl> Get in a vehicle
-<Shift> Get out of a vehicle
-Spacebar to Shoot a gun.

In the future, I will work on:
-Enemy, pedestrian and car AI
-Big rig truck physics
-Car jacking AI
-Better collision detection
-Crash physics
-Etc.

Also, don't downrate me on the graphics, because they're not final. The final graphics will be much better.

OMFG D&D.

I saw something like this a long time ago, and it was much better, it seems as if you got a lot of your ideas from that.

Yes, all my examples prior to my Platform Shooting Engine are in DnD. I'll translate it to GML when I finish my priority work.

@ superdevon4: Yes, that one GTA example from http://www.gmc.madladdesigns.co.uk. I got a lot of inspiration from that. The difference was that the other one was unregistered and mine is.

@ JID: The car graphics are based on Mark's Racing Game example.

whats with the guys arms there like jello
when you stare at me top down im not going to move my arms that much
but like you said the grafics arn't final
actully im making something of the same i started it at christmas and im just getting to getting vehicles i mean i had vehicles but you couldn't steal them Ohh and i added a guy falling on the ground sprite from when you hijack there are 4 weapons (pistol,ak47,sonic cannon,and earthquake gun) I have the sprites for a rocketlauncher,grenadelauncher ,and flamethrower but i havn't added them yet OHH 8/10 cause your awesome

this game has collision problems, now I'm noticing that collision is the first thing that I look for, it just feels good. the controls are good, but when it comes to grabbing a car, it fells a little, errr unresponsive (fyi I advise to stay away from adding shift key as a button, I know its a well placed button, but if pressed several times, can bring up the "sticky-keys" feature window) I know it's a work in progress, but it has a lot of work to be done in it's process... Really, I thought the graphics were acceptable, you really just need the fix the depth problems... Really I would name it sandbox example, people expect more things to do when it says "GTA"

it's good needs to add more but the driving and shooting at simple AI was enough for me 6/10 (I'm rating because I hate how you need a certain amount of votes to get a rating..
