Arrange objects to path

If you have seen some title made from objects into a shape or words, you may have wondered how to do it. This example will do that. It will align the objects, and then draw the path to compare.

It also includes the simple motion effect and a simple particle just as extras.

Enjoy.

Very cool looking and useful. I like how you've made 3 rooms adding more and more to the effect. I would have used 3 seperate objects though, to ease the reading of the code. Another crit is that you use alarms, but that's a matter of preference so not really a crit at all. And don't feel bad about using multiple particle systems - tt ran smoothly (but my computer is relatively new).

Very beautiful and nicely done. Probably best for an intro, or credits.
9/10

This ran pretty smoothly, but this probably wont' help much for my games. But it seems pretty useful. Probably it could be used in a title screen of some sort. 8/10

n=0
repeat(tot-1) {
n+=1
np = instance_create(random(640),random(300),point)
np.tx = path_get_point_x(path,n)
np.ty = path_get_point_y(path,n)
}

-create event of 'game' object, for this you should use a for statement, this is what it would look like,

for(n=1;n<tot;n+=1){
n+=1
np = instance_create(random(640),random(300),point)
np.tx = path_get_point_x(path,n)
np.ty = path_get_point_y(path,n)}

otherwise, very very nice, i could definitly use this. 9/10.

PS:how do i put shit in a light blue box for code and comments?

alright, i made a VERY simple version of this with an effect that im very satisfied with, heres the link:

PS: the reson the path is called HI is because it originally said 'hi'. hope you like it, it uses your method.

Woah, nice work. Would be good for titles, and it'd make some pretty explosion effects :D. 9/10

I dont like the for statement. It is the only statement with more than one argument, and I never took time to remember the order it goes in. My code is 2 extra lines, and is easier to remember. Does the same thing.

Thanks for the replies ppl. :)
