This is random

I randomly reset my favicons for firefox this morning, and as I was going through them I clicked on 64D and just yesterday there were 3 posts about being back.

I suppose I could be back. Though my vision for the new 64D was always to go more app-based, where we could control notifications on people you follow or all new posts for that matter, and comment through your phone. Although it is simple and elegant in this new format, it takes away a little of what this used to be about, which is both blogging and gaming (and related art, gaming or otherwise).

*I forget what kind of formatting works here, so this is a separator*

Updates

I bought a house a little over a year ago. I lived by myself for a while and now have 1 roommate. It takes a bit of work to keep it up, but I enjoy it. I've added some devices to the house and some modifications, and some wiring. Not to mention its in decent shape aside from only a couple of issues. Feels great having my own land and place without anyone else involved.

I also started a new job almost a year ago. Found it randomly through stack overflow after being let go from my last one. I spent too much time looking for other work that the step-in manager(s) decided this. Annoyingly, it was obvious they were looking to replace me a month before it happened. I knew I was too expensive for them, and their direction wasn't good, so that's that. My new place does more cloud and new tech. I love working here.

Between the house and the new job, tech was difficult to work on on the side. I decided I would do a lot of organization and catching up on my setup. Improved my PC, improved my servers, and learned a lot about both. I want to make a youtube video about setting up your own home server and the path you may take depending on what you are using it for. Most people, especially not into tech, should really only use cloud services. Otherwise, FreeNas or Proxmox are great tools to use depending on what you want to do with it.

I've worked on some programming projects as well, just not the same ones I was working on before. Did some reverse proxy setup and tools. Made my first simple app that can connect to it, and made some other simple programs in C#. C# is underrated nowadays, but only because they took a while to get to .NET Core 3. I have deployed applications and SQL databases on linux instances on my virtualization server, which is cool to me. Very flexible and mostly stable. Really nice to have that option now.

I'm just getting back into the Game Maker stuff, which is a little frustrating personally. They keep changing up their software which makes it difficult to write a framework for. I want to make a few updates to the GMUI framework, as well as get a first release of the new ParticleDesigner 3 out. Funnily enough, people are still going to my site and asking when it will come out. I want to get there, but the work it takes will take a big commitment. Hopefully I can figure out how to be quicker with it and maybe have to cut some corners. I'll try to remember to update this blog with any progress if I manage to do it.

Thanks for reading. Welcome back.

I keep lurking /g/ and all their talk about learning C is making me think about it. All I know is GML and all I've done is hobby game dev. I'm in healthcare so besides game making there's little reason to learn a new language I feel like.

Isn't it funny how years later people still come to your personal projects still asking you to release more?

Congrats on the house!

I'm pretty sure I've used your Particle program before. I hope 3 does very well. Congrats on all the improvements too.
