Record Example

Does exactly as the title says. This can be usefull for say racing games and you want to have it replay the race. Just make it so instead of using buttons, it records on its owns. This is a very simple way to create a replay. All it does is as it records, it saves each frame to an array, then, when you play it it just displays those frames in order an volla! I'm sure this isnt the fastest way, but if someone might be so kind to tell me how to make a more efficient way please tell me. But anyway, happy recording.

<B>Controls:</B>
Play-Playback what you recorded
Stop-Stop recording or playing
Record-Self explanitory.

A better way is to save all instance positions into arrays, then "play" them back again.

This is a *really* slow and memory consuming way of doing it. The best way is to record when the user presses the keys or moves something or whatever.

Very inefficient.
Take a look at <a href="http://64digits.com/games/index.php?cmd=view_game&id=183">Melee-Master's example</a>.

a bit to slow

Not that great, and I, personally, can't stand your coding styles :/
if(select){
if(!global.frames=0){
playing=true;
frame=0;}
else{
show_message('Record something first');}}
Quote
....

!global.frames=0

That doesn't look right to me, unless global.frames is supposed to be boolean and I didn't notice...

^^
uhh... thats because no one voted, lol.
i give this a 7/10, horibbly executed, and as hootmat said, it is a bit slow when recording.

srry ppl, i didnt realize how slow it was, I was using my aunts computer which has 2gb of ram and 1gb of graphic memory, its really fast and nothing really slows it down...

silly you, UPDATE IT THEN!!!
