Name Generation

Alright, so I was just looking thru examples and as soon as I saw that someone made a random name generator, i came up with an idea for my own name generation. So, i have no idea if its anything like Nobody's examples and/or scripts but i have come up with a method which allows you to pick how many letters the name should have. Then it alternates between consanants and vowels to create names that are always pronouncable. and they are never and gibberish like "Akjncue." Im gonna check out Nobody's example here in a min. but hope you all like this.

I wouldn't like to be called Hepiluxenihav or Vequguqocawu but it's still cool.
It came up with names as Qake, almost quake and Sumo (YAY).
Fairly simple but easy-to-understandish code, good job.
The only thing that was not so good with this was that it often used letters that aren't very common in normal names, like Q and U.

That's pretty cool.

To see a lot of the possible names:
-Open in Debug Mode
-Set speed (fps) to 1
-Type in the Expression "randName(round(random(10)) + 1)"

Enjoy. 10/10

Ilike this one better than the other one that I tried. The names are much better. You should add a function that lets the user decide the number of letters.

you can control the number of letters, just the object i made as an example uses, 5... i think thats what i put, or maybe 4.

This isn't the best name generator. It doesn't neccesarily make a pronouncible word, just every other letter is a vowel. This could result in 'tupoqarebiw' just an example ;P
It's better than the rest, but not practical for making actual names.

I can't rate :(

Very nice. Just should give more names that end in a vowel.
raketooy commented January 12, 2007 at 5:25 PM
And it never gives names with combinations sh, ng and that stuff.

Aha, awesome. I've done one similar, although mine randomly chose the start, middle and end of the name.

I have another version now, it uses a dll though. It doesn't need the dll, but it's a hell of a lot faster with it.
