A simple but nice lighting engine. Plz test it even if its not the greatest. Also coment because I need input from other people on this one.

runs fast, that's good.
But those.. transparent borders, or what it is, around the circle annoys me.
8/10

It's a start
Misconstruct commented October 04, 2006 at 9:34 PM
It's okay... but when you move the light too fast, it does weird things. Keep working on it, because it's good lookin'.

thnx guys, i know of a few glitches that im working on.
gtvg commented October 04, 2006 at 10:56 PM
Pretty glitchey, but I got average 315 fps!!! Keep workin on it

suked
membrain commented October 05, 2006 at 12:55 AM
I have to disagree...
I don't think is really "sucked" afterall, it's a start. It does do some pretty strange things, and the shadow maps aren't exactly accurate in proportion in many'a cases...

but the fps is really high, and if you keep workin on it I'm sure it'll be pretty cool in the end.

You have to add more types of shadow (eg rectangles). If you are only going to use 1 light, draw it like this. If you do want to draw more then 1 light, use a surface.

Cheers

i know it isnt the greatest (i dont know how surfaces work) so other than telling me what to do can someone actually tell me how to do it?
DevonX commented October 05, 2006 at 6:42 PM
ill start workin on learning that
LoserHands commented October 06, 2006 at 1:10 AM
ok 5/10
OL commented October 06, 2006 at 2:35 PM
superdevon:

Surfaces are just like normal drawing, except you draw to a sort of "canvas" that you can't see.

All you do is create a surface, set to draw to it, draw as normal, reset drawing, then draw your surface where you want.
DevonX commented October 06, 2006 at 8:18 PM

OMG. Since when was there a draw_triangle function? I've been using primitives for nothing?!
DevonX commented October 09, 2006 at 5:21 PM
lol.
noshenim commented March 15, 2007 at 12:44 AM
pretty good. I pimp'd it, now is expanded and more compact code, some bug fixes.

I liked how this doesn't need registration.
Also, draw_triangle has been around since... let me see... probably gm1 but i'l check.
