<3. Nearly flawless clone. Controls did feel a tad weird but thats not entirely your fault. 9/10
Rez commented March 03, 2008 at 8:45 PM
10/10 worthy actually.
marbs commented March 03, 2008 at 9:38 PM

Awesome.
Crane-ium commented March 04, 2008 at 1:33 AM
I thought it was good. I just had some jumping issues with the lava. I think the jumping can be improved. But it's a fantastic start.

9/10.
lukem18 commented March 04, 2008 at 5:36 PM
fantastic..
PY commented March 04, 2008 at 6:06 PM
Fan-dabie-dabulous.
Still some lag, which I still say is avoidable somehow, it must be.
Jumping feels... off, though. Should be faster, both up and down.
I hesitate to give 10/10, it's not perfect, but it's damn close.
9.7/10, and I must defy the laws of mathematics, and round down. Give you some improving to do! (Tho if this were a full game, it'd be 10/10, no doubt)
Mat commented March 04, 2008 at 6:13 PM
An amazing engine. Even if it was open source it would be mind boggolingly hard to change.
sumo commented March 04, 2008 at 8:27 PM
WOW! This is really good!! 10 for you!
Killpill28 commented March 04, 2008 at 10:22 PM
You made the bomb jumping way to easy.

I had to practice for hours to get the timing right in Super Metroid SNES!

And you should make a running button, and have the super running not red, I don't like the red:p

But it was amazing!

9/10
That took away you amazing blue rating.

10/10, I'll round up.

Crap, I can't rate after I deleted my comment...

Yay, I can rate now!
PY commented March 05, 2008 at 9:46 PM
mmmmkay, I've played a bit more, it's long enough to deserve it's 10.
DSG commented March 06, 2008 at 5:20 AM
Gah, I love metroid.

And it really does feel like metroid.

kudos

10/10
marbs commented March 06, 2008 at 4:29 PM
Decided it was worth a review =)
Alert Games commented March 08, 2008 at 12:08 AM
I agree with PY. The jumping is kinda weird. Also, i hate that lava place on the bottom. using spiderball on a platform right under a platform is vey annoying, and theres no save :(

i dont like how you get all the items at once either, but im guessing thats because its a demo.

very nice. 10/10 for wip.
JoshDreamland commented March 09, 2008 at 1:04 AM

Wow this is an amazing game, and it deserves a 10/10. Also your already at 1005 downloads in only 19 days. Wow.
WaleedAmer commented March 22, 2008 at 2:53 PM
Flawless, dude. I'm amazed.

MUST be finished. 10. =)

Keep it up.
E-Magination commented March 22, 2008 at 3:39 PM
I'd be an asshole to rate this a 9 even tough I want to.

Or rather 9.5. Rounding off means a 10 anyway so whatever. 10 for you.
Snakeman commented March 23, 2008 at 2:37 AM
One of my friends works in this game. I played it before it was submitted. It is truly amazing.

Brilliant engine, I thought perfection was impossible with game maker due to all those unknown bugs and stuff.

samuraikill commented September 15, 2016 at 3:58 AM
Wow.. He finally made the full game and it got a C&D letter from Nintendo. At least it got the recognition it deserved.
Nopykon commented September 15, 2016 at 11:32 AM
Oh, I played this just before news about the C&D-letter.

Nintendo of America, Inc. has filed a takedown request under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). I received the request on my personal email, so I'm complying with their requests.

There will be no more AM2R updates, and no more releases under any platform.

Thank you for the support during all these years.

Glad I grabbed the release as soon as it went live.
I remember downloading and playing the demo (This one here) back in 2010 and thinking it was pretty OK. The full game actually kept me busy for a full evening, I'd easily confuse it with an official product.
Literally the only thing that felt off to me was the movement speed.
