Infidels is a shoot-em-up made for GameJolt's Shocking competition. It features 3D graphics with a third person mouselook perspective, several types of enemy which grow stronger as you progress, powering up of your electroguns, recharge time, etc, and a lot more. Some of my shoot-em-ups are considered a little bland and repetitive, so I've done as much as I can to make this entertaining and addictive, including adding online highscores (built by Unknown Gamer).

In the game, it is 2071. Being Ginger has become a religion. You play as a redheaded guy fending off the haters with a pair of electroguns. (note - no offense toward redheads was intended in this game)

Enemies come in three types:
The unintelligent people walk towards you menacingly. If you're standing still and they catch you, they grab hold and attack. If you're moving, you can barge through them with minimal health damage. Killing four in quick succession earns you bonus points.
The robot shoots in four directions and spins randomly. It carries a lot of health but its attacks are fairly avoidable, either by simply following it as it twists or by jumping over its bullet stream. Killing them gives you a minor health boost if needed.
The rocks simply fall from above at you. A ring appears underneath them showing how many seconds until they land. If by then you're underneath it, instant death.
All of these become more dangerous as time progresses - the people and the robots gain health, and the rocks fall in greater quantity.

As you play, four powerups will be earnt:
Gun Power Up - 2500 points - this doubles the damage your electroguns do + gives 100 points.
Health Regain - 5000 points - this puts you back onto 100% health + gives 100 points.
Recharge Speed Up - 7500 points - your electroguns recharge at double speed + gives 100 points.
Kickass Bonus - 10000 points - rewards your efforts with 1000 points.

I hope you enjoy the game. Let me know of any opinions you have, glitch reports etc.

Fun, colourful background is slightly annoying though. When I first saw the 3,2,1 in circles, I thought I was meant to go there for something good :P

Well I didn't get very far cos I'm a noob, but it was pretty entertaining and well made. I suck at these kind of games and found it hard, maybe flatten out the dificulty curve a touch? After a while it got very hard very quickly.

That was fun. It looks great and plays great. I like the difficulty curve, I just wished the new things (besides the people, like the octopus thing) would appear faster so I wouldn't feel like it'd be bad to start over. 9/10
