Basic Mouse Platform Engine

This is a basic example on how to make a platform game based on mouse movements. Sort of like something melee-master posted in his blog, but much more basic. Took 30 minutes or so to make, so yeah, let the bad mouse-based platformers begin!

'Tis ok. Kind of buggy but it gets the job done.

Pretty nice. Also a better way of detection than mine, although I don't think it's nearly as smooth.

Did I check for bugs? I can't remember. I think no.

There was already a "Kirby Canvas Curse" engine somewhere, and only one GM game with that was made. Probably because it's difficult to understand.

My example is about as smooth as tissue paper rubbing against sandpaper.

Of course, it could have been better, and if I feel like improving this, I'd try to do so. I think the biggest flaw is the fact that the reaction is delayed and I can't do things to quickly between actions (jump, move).

You don't seem to be able to go in diagonal directions. I guess it was all right though.
Polystyrene Man commented August 09, 2006 at 7:25 PM
Yeah, as Buffit said, it only works horizontally and vertically.

it's pretty good, but no diagnal isn't that cool, and the Canvas Curse engine SUCKED, i gave suggestions but NOOO, he had to be an asshole...
