Abandoned again
Posted on September 07, 2008 at 07:16

The chance you've noticed is pretty slim but abandoned has been added to 64digits. I don't think it has been on the frontpage too long. It was pushed off of the front page before it even got more than one download... :(

Why the decision to have only the 6th newest games on the frontpage? I don't think the game has been on the front for more than an hour...

Anyway, this way I want to let you know that it HAS been added. And also that it is in the cagematch now:

"Abandoned" Needs testers!
Posted on August 31, 2008 at 14:04

Hello everyone!

My new game "Abandoned" is almost done. (You can look in my previous blog entry for a screenshot or go here: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d97/JaJPlatformRpg/Entrance2-2.png)

Almost? Well, actually it IS done. But I can't guarantee it's bug-free yet. I also havn't added the online highscores yet, but I'm not sure the game needs those.

What the game does need at the moment is testers, so everyone who likes to test the game can get a testversion here:
http://www.jajproductions.nl/Abandoned.zip

It's 13 MB, a bit large, I know, but I really hope it's worth it.

Comments are welcome

Abandoned

No, no sad story about abandonement, just a screenshot of my newest game, that will be called... (guess)

It's the entrance area (oddly enough the last area in the game)

I was kinda impressed with how it turned out myself. It is certainly the best looking area in the game.

Expect this game soon!

Game music remix
Posted on August 19, 2008 at 18:48

I've started a small game music remix competition on thepoppenkast ( http://www.thepoppenkast.com/forum/index.php?topic=872.0 feel free to enter)
and I just finished my personal entry.

It's a remix of the ending credits of super mario land 1, because it's the first game ever that I finished, so it's the first ending credits music I've ever heard.

I'm not 100% happy with it (somewhere near the ending it kinda sucks) but it's close enough, so I present you my entry:

Theseus in the competition!
Posted on April 30, 2008 at 13:51

Lets start with the screenshot:

This is it, a game I have been working on for more than a year now. It's a platform game inspired by a lot of older games, and I enjoyed making it for the largest part, so I really hope you like playing it as well.

It was kinda designed for speedrunning, so I hope I will see you in the online highscores soon :D

Oh yeah, I entered it into the yoyogames competition, so if you like it, rate it :D

There it is, hope you like it.

Yoyogames entry 1
Posted on April 29, 2008 at 08:53

http://www.yoyogames.com/games/show/34061#

Tadaa, my first entry has been added to yoyogames.

If you like it, don't forget to vote :D

it's the chinese game:

Wu Xing - The five phases

~Wu Xing are the five phases or elements in traditional chinese philosophy:
fire, earth, water, wood and metal.
The system was used to discribe interactions and relationships between phenomena.~

Goal:
Make rows and columns of eight of the same elements to make that row disappear.
Do this as fast as possible to make combo's for even more points and extra time.

Controls:
Use the mouse to click on the arrow buttons at the edges of the playing field.
This makes a row or column move.

Combo's:
When you clear a row or column a timebar at the right of the playing field will
start to decrease. If you manage to clear another column or row before that bar
is empty, the combo counter will be increased. The higher the combo counter, the
higher the score and time bonus you get. If the combo bar runs out of time, your
combo count will be resetted.

Game Over:
The game is over when the timebar at the bottom of the screen runs out of time.

Online highscores:
The ten best players that have recorded their scores can be viewed at the main
menu screen. Every name can be posted into the highscores only once. If you score
better than last time, your score will overwrite.

I'll upload it to 64digits later. For the moment, I would like to guide people via yoyogames because of the competition.

I'm back
Posted on April 26, 2008 at 08:08

I'm back, and for the worst reason ever, to advertise the games I made for the yoyogames competition that are both almost done now. And one of them turns out to be one of the, if not the best game I've made so far. ±o

So today, I´m going to start with screenshots.

The first game is an action puzzler with a chinese theme, it's a typical 'line the colours up' game with chain reactions, you have to shuffle the colums horizontaly and vertically (like a rubics cube) to line up the colors. I'm making this game with a classmate.

I can also show you the music for this game:
http://www.jajproductions.nl/chinese.mp3
http://www.musicforgames.nl/ChineseLevel.mp3

The second game is almost done and is turning out great. It's a long (over an hour of playtime at the least) platform explorer with a lot of variaty and different elements. I will try to upload this one to 64Digits later today.

Attack of the deadly mutant fishies
Posted on May 18, 2007 at 08:39

I made a game for a two hour competition and then spent another two hours improving it. Since I don't want to clutter the game database with small four hour minigames, and because I am quite fond of my 8/10 and higher badge, I decided to just show it to you in a blog entry.

Story:
It is the year 2050, people have continued polutting the earth. The earth is warming up. There is little space left to live on and soon the entire earth will be one big ocean. Preperations for making the bottom of the oceans livable have been made. There is only one small problem. The toxic waste dumped in to the ocean over the years has caused a large number of mutations among fish species. These mutated fish are extremely dangerous and need to be eliminated.
This is your job.

Use the arrow keys to move.

Warnings
1. This game has been made in four hours (and fifteen minutes) Don't expect wonders (or anything near that)
2. This game is still difficult.

My personal highscore is 81 points. Let's see if you can do better. :P

This game was made in a two hour competition among the members of poppenkast.

Guess the animal!
Posted on March 18, 2007 at 16:04

Hello everyone. Here I am again.
I've composed a song and I am very proud of it so I want everyone to hear it :p Please tell me what you think:

www.jajproductions.nl/unidentified.mp3

Oh, I made it for a battle at gmclans (that hasn't been initialised yet, but it took the judges too long to initialised and I have no time the next couple of weeks, but I liked the battle so made the song anyway) in wich you had to compose a song inspired by an animal.

So try to guess what the song was inspired on :D (people who already know it cause I told them, don't say it :p)

Cagematch finale, I need 34 votes!!!
Posted on December 21, 2006 at 12:16

Hello people, after beating three games, I only need to beat one more to get into the hall of fame :D

problem: I'm 34 votes behind :p
When this round started I thought begging for your vote wouldn't work out in my advantage, but at the moment I think I don't have much to loose :p

So if you like superactionbouncego, please vote for me :p
