By the screenshot, I thought you gave it a plane instead of a line to work on. Yeah, I beat this, but I mostly did it with constant experimenting with the pixels and the help file. I learned that my favorite pixel was the purple/pink one. I pretty much won the game by luck.
It was interesting, but pretty hard. Truly, I don't know what to give it yet. I like how everything was done by code--no sprites, making it a small and efficient game. Let's see...the gameplay was hard and confusing, but I think coding the entire thing ought to earn a bonus point. 9/10 Don't yell at me for that.
I was scrathing my head wondering what you could pull off in a 1D game. Well, seems you can do quite a bit in 1-D after all. I tried it a bit and got stuck. Seemed like a couple places I should be able to go to I couldn't. Is it 1D? Hmmmm... Yeah, I see your point... but when you say you can go up and down... well, that's 2-D, no? But yet at the same time you could say that instead of going up or down that certain colors would send you like 1 room to the right or left or something...which still makes it 1D! Definitely different. So now, what will the next game be... 0-D? (A game with no graphics...only sound). Quite orignal. 7/10
Wasn't your initial motive to make this an exploration game? Also, there are no places I got stuck. If something happens, go find the ladder or hole and start over. The game really isn't too long to hurt you if you fail a bit.
Also, since I've seen the source, I like how well you compiled this. It's all conveniently coded and sized. |
