Beluas and Castles
My entry for the competition.
You waked up in this strange island, not knowing where you are, or what to do, just knowing something, you need to escape!
Explore! Build! Fight! and Escape!
A big variety of weapons, monsters, bosses, with a huge map to explore, but will you survive?...

Controls are in the game help, if you have a slow computer I would suggets you to close other programs before playing Beluas and Castles.

I liked it, it had some cool ideas. I liked that you can have friend enemies that help you. Way too many controls but once I got the hang of it it was fun.

I think the game looks nice; in fact I quite like the visual style. Unfortunately I didn't find the controls or mechanics particularly easy to pick up or get into, and I’m afraid this did result in me quitting after only two tries. Perhaps a quicker restart would help here (is there no way to skip the opening cut scene?) Also, I think more feedback when attacking would be good as I wasn’t really feeling it. Tthe tutorials also feel like it’s chucking too much at you at once and a bit of a slower introduction might help. From your description it sounds as if it could be quite good later on, but I just didn’t get that far, sorry...

Thanks for the feedback, the controls are a lot, but that doesnt means you need to use all the butons, I made they so left handed and right handed have the same advantage (thats why you can e.g move with arrow keys or WASD etc...)
It is possible to skip the cutscene (X buton) and you can save with O (so you doesn't have to restart from begining again everytime).

So why did you guys give it a 1 and 2/10? I played through a bit and I can't see why it would deserve such a low score. Nevertheless, I'm deleting Charlie's comment.

Seriously what the fuck, this isn't YoYo Games, where you can give a game 1/5 stars without explaining yourselves.

I liked this, it's not too bad.
Maybe it got that rating because of....stuffjealousy

My main issues with the game was my inability to keep the castle offscreen for more than 18 seconds without it being raped to oblivion and Mr. Dude's sudden change of heart upon attacking the shark being strong enough to cause him to instantly keel over and die. I thought I'd at least see one pixel fall of what would have been a disproportionately large healthbar.
I also question how enemy recruiting and AI works, because my slime died to an ant-looking thing (later discovered to be a Rat) in two hits, and then a Rat that I recruited that was in what I believed to be Castle Defense / Save Your Own Ass mode rushed out three screens away and promptly had an unpleasant encounter with a band of hooded archer boogies.
It's a solid game, it's presentational / design / technical flaws notwithstanding.
