My computer

If you ever wondered with what beginner indie developers make their amazing games…

Processor: Intel Atom D2500 1.86 GHz

RAM: 2 GB

Graphics card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 Series

Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2 GHz 4 cores

RAM: 8 GB

Graphics card: AMD R9 280X 2GB

I wait to open programs. If I drag folder to desktop, "Moving element (18MB)" pop-up appears, with damn loading bar. I wait close programs. It lags while scrolling in Word.

I wait a lot to open larger sprite in GameMaker. Talking about GameMaker, my current game is slowly becoming too good for this computer. It's starting to lag.

Well, if it's actually possible to optimize particles in GameMaker, I'll try. Because my game should be targeted at players, who can't run games like Call of Duty or Dragon Age :P

When I got into 3D development on game maker - Which was a nightmare btw - I had a top of the line Pentium D computer with 3GBs of Ram and a 8500GT and it would lag on my Driver clone game. Which was not even close to as good looking as Driver 1 was . . . lol and had little to no physics :P

Year 2005 I believe, the 8500GT was an upgrade for sure. The computer before that was an IBM Aptiva Cxx2700 I scavenged from the basement. You know, with the external CD and Floppy drive, ATI Rage 1 integrated with 2MB vram, 64 MB of EDO ram, a free copy of Mech Warrior II for free to show off the Rage's great 3D abilities. Windows 95 . . . The whole 9 yards.

Edit: Pentium MMX 200 with 256Kb Coast chip upgraded to a AMD K6-III 450 @200 because that's the best it could do. :)
