Mathematical 64Digits logo Posted on December 26, 2014 at 19:46
I literally have no idea why I took this so far.
So I was contemplating to make another V4 design. I figured I needed the logo, but since I didn't find an SVG of the 64digits logo, I decided to make it from scratch and create it like ancient greek would do it with just ruler and compass.
So last weekend the annual GGJ happened, and I participated! Yay!
To anyone unfamiliar with the Global Game Jam, or GGJ for short:
- what are you doing on this website?
- it's a 48-hour game jam in which teams create a game surrounding some theme. Nothing unusual. The event is sponsored and on locations and with real awards.
I participated 4 years ago and our game won the 3rd prize :D Due to ignorance on our part this game might not be able to run on your PC - it uses very wide hq sprite strips, which your video card might not like.
This year the theme was "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are". The game I only made music and audio for, won the "Best Tech" award, meaning our game created the best impression on a technological level. E.g. graphically or mechanically. Apparently the judges liked the way we implemented the split screen a lot. The physics are a mess, though :)
So, The Revealing: Revealed is a co-op game where you keep dark enemies from reaching the center crystal. You can defeat them and all is good. If the dark enemies reach the center, they turn white and try to kill you. The tricky thing is you can't see much on your own. If you merge with the other player, you can see the whole map and launch to wherever you want.
Unfortunately the version that got uploaded has a very annoying camera issue that has been fixed since the upload, since it didn't happen when the judges came.
Also, the intro of the main track got looped, instead of the loop part. So you cannot hear the full track I created :(.
Here is the full version:
