Well ive been working on a new RPG, work on it is going quite well. Ive been working on the battle system for a couple of days now and everything seems to be going smoothly.
Its a real time battle system, where you can carry out combos and juggle enemies, using the Bounce Effect, where you can bounce enemies off each other and then carry on doing combos from there or even follow up with a skill.
The game will have its own unique style, and would be more of playing a stylish cartoon rather than just a video game. Im trying to make it appealing to watch and less repetitive with dynamic backgrounds and interactive backgrounds, that react to what is going on, in the screen.
At the moment im trying to work out how AI plays out, so far its abit challenging when facing enemies, however im trying to make them more dynamic and fluid in the way they attack and move.
Im also trying to figure if i want to add in quick action sequences, which will be pre animated cut scenes incorporated into the battle system, havent really decided on how this is going to work as of yet.
Heres a few screenshots with my test sprites.
*These sprites where not made by me, i will have my own sprites but for now im using some other ones just to get everything working*
Questions:What would you guys prefer to use, just the keyboard or the keyboard and the mouse ?
What makes you attracted to a game?
and anything else that youd like to comment on.
I'm a purist when it comes to mixing controls. As for the latter question, I'm attracted to the game?
Thanks for your reply.
To "Serpex" when i say attracted to i mean what would make you carry on playing the game ?to make me carry on playing the game it either has to be really fun, like adicting, or really good graphics might keep me for a while. There cant be any way to long talking scenes unless u magically find a way to get people into the story line. Most people just want the action.
To keep me playing, I must be enjoying it.
Your graphics can be as good as they want, but if it's not fun, you're in for a swift deletion.
