Failed Shmup Shenanigans

First, here's a funny video for those of you who play shoot-em-ups, and especially those familiar with Touhou. Basically, I was right at the end and died. It was depressing. Fifteen minutes of dodging waaaasted.

How embarrassing….

I've been talking with Purianite a bit lately, and he recommended a couple shoot-em-ups to me. So I downloaded them. But I haven't played them. The only one I did play was Ikaruga (where has it been my whole life?), and man, that's a fun game.

School's just about out, and summer's just work and no class. That means I can actually make progress on some games.

Right now it's a juggle between

- Lixim

- Terminys

- LODM

- Prism Soul

I'm also doing a little activity called "novel in 30 days," where I basically write a novel outside of my comfort zone (genre, etc), and write as if I'm attempting to get it published, which I might, depending on how it turns out.

I think that's it for now. I'll have progress blogs later.

It is now the player's turn.

Player presses the Z key!

Boss is damaged by a steady stream of bullets.

It is now the boss's turn.

Boss uses SHOOP DA WHOOP!

Player is defeated.

Player says WTF!

This game just got released on Steam. It's a neat looking shmup, and I thought you'd be interested.

At first I thought it was just a run and gun sort of game. Looks like fun, provided that I don't need to go searching for friends to play with, and that it uses matchmaking instead.
