Being a GM user, I knew about this site for a while. You can probably still find my old account, with my noobish rants and nerdy development posts for my poor software.
Everything in this screenshot works as the equivelant in GM, it's not concept. I could release this right now, but there is still much to add.Things get a bit more beautiful now.http://dsgamemaker.com/gamemaker.png
:O
Two points:
1)The logo thing on the top looks like shit, please remove it.2)You're on v3.2 and haven't released? The convention is 1.0 is first stable release, dude :PApart from that, well done!I released 3.1, but it's nowhere near as close to GM as the above.
For a start, the UI is horrible.I'd have to agree with all points made… especially the logo one. C'mon man. You can do better than that! :D
If this works, then you are amazing and I love you.I wouldn't say that, it looks workable - except for the banner.
Does look a little cluttered, but GM never had very good UI design to begin with, so improving on it shouldn't be hard :Pthe logo could be ugly as hell, I dont it care as long as the program works.
Thanks for the suggestions. I changed the logo. I am still not entirely happy with the positioning (needs slight pixel tweaking) but this will stay.
http://dsgamemaker.com/neueslogo.pngNo, really, I mean the whole bar. 60px of space for… a single logo? What? Really?
Bar was this size before: http://fromthegutter.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/dsgm-2.png
Majorly reduced it to work better on small screens. Why do you need the bar? If it performed any function at all I'd mind less, but it just seems entirely useless to me. People KNOW what program they're using, it has the name in the titlebar!
While, yes, I'm the sort that refuses to use Windows' default shell because it's too bulky, I think it's just useless, and is likely to put more people off than make people want to use it.
