For some reason this song by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding caught me by surprise when I heard it on my local radio station. It had an *in your face* bassline that you only hear in electronic music scenes. I decided that I would take a stab at it and introduce some eurotrance leads/anthems and progressive house to the mix. Just because I can. Here's what I came up with. It's slower than the music I usually produce and a little more bassy than what I'm used to. Oh well. Listen to it in 1080p.

Oh, and the fractal image I used for my video made me really want to experiment with coding a self generating fractal program that draws random fractals. Maybe I'll publish a demo if I actually get it done. Fractals are awesome.

Just FYI, sound quality at 360p = sound quality at 1080p :P

Anyway, track sounds pretty catchy, just like the original, and the sounds are pretty phat. Well done :P Mastering might need a bit of improvement (I'm hearing some limiter artifacts on the bassline here and there), but mastering is a bitch, so yeah.

If you need some inspiration for your fractal program, take a look at Iterated Function Systems. They are really easy to implement. I made a program that makes IFSs.

Very catchy, especially at the beginning. Could envision it being used at a party quite easily.

Thanks, I didn't spend too much time trying to mix and master the track. I'm still trying to improve my skills in that area, but first need to finish polishing the initial sound generating. Mixing can only do so much with poorly made sounds. I plan on working on sound mixing over the summer.
