Ninji Was Here; Purianite is a loser.

Dun worry, this post is about Zero Akmar in particular, Not what Purianite does with himself at night.

If Puris angels can jack him off mine can tell me to kill people. Oh god they write in Aramaic all over my wall in blood;

"I told you, 'Make no agreements with the inhabitants of this land, and Tear down their altars.'" Judges 2:2.

As of late I've been working more and more on Zero Akmar. Focusing on various aspects of key importance. It looks like right now I'm not going to have to do much graphics revision. W/e I got I'm just going to roll with and hope I can take on the next obstacle. Enemies are turning out pretty solid, and I hope I can keep the rest of the enemy cast as dynamic and distinct.

I have a hard time thinking about it. Who the fuck do you fight? Ok, so you got these general agents of Juri on your ass, one Jinn wants to save the world, one Jinn wants to destroy it, and one Jinn wants to make a man out of you (even you, Saku). Then a malicious magical angel that seems all benevolent like wants to turn all of Israel (srs 4rth wall) into an army against He.. To the point I'm talking more about enemy types. As of now all I can think of is giving each boss a respective enemy type. Well that's almost done btw. Knights, magicians, Jews. All so hard to choose. I don't know how far I want to milk out Malakhim (angels), because they're not supposed to be physical beings at all. Genie I have no trouble with, plus they give character to the game. Fiery character might I add. So that's something to think about.

For Mystical Ninji it seems I needed to rely on giving each enemy different projectile attacks, and then beefing the attacks up and giving more HP for higher difficulties. Now this game didn't have blocking, or enemy flinching, so I guess it was a smashmouth insult to any melee aspects of taking on your opponent. Of coarse Melee is most vital aspect of Zero's approach, and the only way Sakuyuko can effectively take on an enemy at all. Well now you can block, enemies have armour periods (usually by frames and stance) and beserker periods (shown by fiery auras), you can block too and stuff.

Well now enemies have a few ways of coming at you. Ifrit, Doji, and Dakhim are the Jinn class and they utilize the three cardinal methods. What Ifrit does most imposing is throw a massive streaming fireball that has high potential of breaking your shield with its chain. Then Doji with magnificent speed and grace can grab you through your block, then she performs a surplex. Dakhim is a monstrous, seemingly useless Jinn, yet when he hits the ground you fall over attacking with a method that pulls you out of blocking, instead of trying to drill through your defense like Ifrit. So the idea is they're all equally dangerous at some range. Working together between enemies is now somewhat optional itself. They can all chase you around and pummel you, but you could also get picked up by one, and sandbag all the projectiles from another helplessly, or get shot down trying to scale an imposing attack.

In case it ever comings up I might as well mention the games credits start to look like this;

Nintai: Music

Zephael: Beta testing (real good at it too)

Sakuyuko: Concept and story development. Beta Testing.

Ninjii: Coding, graphics, and everything else.

As of now all the cast has respective characters in the game. Mine being Ninjii. The 'i' is just a copyright thing not that I mind. In case you were wondering why Sakuyuko comes as a fictional character, and someone who actually helps me. All of the characters come from Doujinstyle members actually. I'll try to get Juri to help me with graphics some time.

I will get back with the screenshots in what not when I make this game something to look at. I can promise much special effects work, especially the bombs and GUI. Much game-play to beat out, which Saku and Zeph have been helping me with most graciously. I'd love to sit here and trash on my old work all day, but don't let me hold you up.

Thanks for reading;

~Ninjii
