Bad News

The Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, was killed in a freak accident while they were filming a show off the Great Barrier Reef. I was listening to this on the radio as we headed home today, not sure if it happened today or yesterday. They said that a stingray's tail stinger hit him directly in the heart, killing him almost instantly. Its too bad, because he was pretty cool :( He has a wife and two kids, but I think he was happy that he died doing what he loved the most - getting close to dangerous animals!

It really is a freak accident though, getting stabbed in the heart by the stingray's stinger - you would have thought a crocodile or snake would have gotten him! :( This incident makes an old saying true - There are old snakehandlers and there are bold snakehandlers, but there are no bold and old snakehandlers. RIP Crocodile Hunter …..

In other news, since we were in the good old redneck state of Arkansas, we went to the Arkansas - USC game. It was pretty cool, but I dont much care for either team!

Thats it, get on with your lives now!

This was only the third known fatality in Australian history from a stingray attack, and the first since 1945.[33] As of 1996, only seventeen worldwide fatalities had been recorded,[34] and it is believed to be the only fatal attack ever captured on film. It was "a one-in-a-million thing".

Poor CH. Thought he'd die doing something involving crocodiles.
