It's Official: There 's no such thing as script_add() or The Lock Ness Monster

I have been wracking my brain and searching the net trying to find a way to externally store my Game Maker scripts as text files. It's official- there is no script_add() function.

Have you heard of the three-legged tripod of quality? You can pick any two out of fast, good, and cheap. So you can have it cheap and easy, but you can't have it good too. Game Maker is the fastest, easiest programming language out there. But let's face it, it's been dumbed down a bit.

The help file says regarding this point:

"Scripts cannot be changed during the execution of the game…Changing scripts would lead to self-rewriting code which very easily leads to errors."

Thanks for the words of wisdom Dad. Can I borrow the car keys now?
