Wow! I've had a pretty good greeting here. Now all I have to do is add a game. Also, for those of you who were wondering about the whole Regitress thing, I completely made it up out of my head; no outside influences. The 'other world' is a world I made up, and yes, I created the religion too (not that I believe in it lol).
Anyhoo, I have a question for y'all who read this blog. When you create a GM game, what do you start with? I mean what is the first thing you do? For me personally, I start by drawing my character's sprites and program his basics. Sound usually comes last, and, unfortuantely, so does much of the storyline. Now's the part where I talk about my life to all the people out there who don't really care. My avatar will the subject today. It's not that great since I drew it meself, but anyway. The bird is a comic book character me and a friend created, named Eaglo. The words Toni co. seen behind him is the name of the company. No, It is not mine nor my friend's name, but there is significance withing the name ToNi. See if you can figure it out! Lol This is Regitress signing out….
When I start a GM game, I'll begin with basic sprites, then get down basic programming, like you said. Then I'll design levels. Later, I put in special objects, and redo some of my old sprites, fix up programming, etc.
Find your own style and see where it takes you.I determine the sprite style, Storyline, and basic gameplay first. Music and polish comes next.
Hmm… I come at it in an odd way… I basically jump all around it, doing small bits of coding, making sounds, spriting/modeling, make pieces of levels, and am eventually done.
