Overdue

Pun related to working at a video store?

I guess you could say that ohoho..

But nah, a new entry is just long overdue for this blog of mine.

So what's new?

Well, I'm nearly 3 weeks into working at the video store, and I've got the hang of just about everything, only thing I'm still not 100% sure of is the full procedure when counting all the money at closing, and closing in general.

I just got back from work and it was pretty cool, I was working with this girl who is friends with one of my friends girlfriend, he told me the other night he cheated on her or something, and today her friend asked me at work who he cheated on her with.

I don't honestly know but I figured it was his ex since he went out with her for like 5 years and only just broke up with her, and it was just something to talk about.

Funny thing is, that it was maybe a 10 minute conversation, but it lasted around 3 hours because you keep having to go off and do something around the store.

In fact, I organized the comedy section perfectly today, and as soon as I was done, some kid in crutches knocked off all the A's and B's.

Man that was annoying, but he was already in crutches, so what am I supposed to do?

Oh, and at like 8:30 the lights flicked off and on, the dvd player ejected so fast the disc flew out and I heard a couple dozen dvd's get knocked down.

The girl I was working with reckons there is a ghost at the store and was telling me a bunch of other weird crap that's happened before but I wasn't really listening. And I found a little girls jacket in the adult room.

One of my friends is back in town for a few days, so we had a Tuesday night (on Monday night)

It was pretty lucky, because we all have jobs now and we all had that day, and the next off.

We spent most of the time playing halo3 and guitar hero, I was only really interested in the map editing part of halo3 because you can set up some pretty cool stuff that really changes the strategies you might have for a certain level or specific area.

We also watched a lot of the new stuff that they haven't seen yet (they haven't been over in a long time)

It was like four episodes of Prison Break, 3 of Heroes, 3 of Family Guy, 2 of South Park, a bunch of movies and other stuff.

In fact I should check if the new episode of Prison Break is up yet…

hmm… not yet.

What else?..

Oh Twinsen, right.

In the last entry, I posted the new forest/bush parallax layer, not much has changed, I just brightened it up a bit:

I've also made the tiling a little bit more interesting, and added a new mini level.. I haven't seen Cocopuffs since the last update, and there's not a lot I can do without him.

There is some rather interesting stuff I could show you guys, but Cocopuffs doesn't want me to spoil everything.. So how about if I don't see him within the next few days, I'll show you guys something cool.

Also, my brother that's moved back to the states has registered here so he could comment in my blog still hasn't received a confirmation email or something, but I told him not to register, so I'll let him deal with it himself.

What else could I write about.. Video games I guess.

I'm only really playing Phantom Hourglass on the DS, I haven't played it that much yet.. I think I'm still in the ice dungeon.. I don't remember fighting the boss.

And that's about it, there are a bunch of games I'm looking forward to, some kinda casually looking forward to like the Simpsons game on DS, I know all their games have sucked, but this one is a 2D platformer, it looks pretty solid and has the potential to be a lot of fun.

And then there's games like Oboro Muramasa, that I'm looking forward to so much I can remember the entire name.

In fact I even made a gif out of a really cool part from the trailer:

That spherical effect over the parallax layers and everything is just amazing, I'd love if the whole game had that effect, but I have to wonder if it would hinder level design at all, because in the trailer the only area to have that effect was a completely level forest.

And Insomniac Games believes they inspired Super Mario Galaxy.

It's really just an attempt to steal some of it's spotlight and be associated with a real platformer, and not some stupid bastardized third person shooter hybrid bullshit with a sprinkle of actual platforming.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Ratchet and Clank series, and I'm definitely not a fan of Insomniac Games, I'm still not sure if they're just claiming to have inspired Super Mario Galaxy, that they were the first to use the concept of small planets in a video game or even invented the "planet".

Whatever they're saying, they're wrong.

And that's not even the first.

Anywho, I think that's about enough to justify the late update.

BYAAH!

And to think how impressed we were, even at that point.

eh… if you want to throw an insult at me, atleast try to explain why you disagree instead of just coming off as a jackass.

Go play any of them besides deadlocked, you are describing deadlocked, not the other 5 games.
