Notch quietly released 1.8 for testing…

Make sure to backup your old minecraft.jar (I guess that goes without saying for anybody here who's actually playing Minecraft here)

:D

It's also considerably slower on my craptop. Hm, I may not be able to play on the server as frequently.

Hmm, the vines DO have textures… Did you replace the Minecraft.jar and move the old one? Maybe the .png for the new textures is "updated" from the server when you run the new executable and you weren't connected? I suppose it could be a bug that occurs dependant on your graphics cards and drivers and such, but that seems inplausable. I'm not sure… but…

FUCKING CAVE SPIDERS

wtf, you can block attacks now with swords. :D

Also, I think the texture problem was just because I had a texture pack on.

Chests have animations now, I see.

And the new lighting is interesting, particularly underground.

I just tried to connect to the 64D server and it said I couldn't connect because the server is outdated. :(

I've only had 2 relatively minor graphical bugs so far. Well one is major for single player but it wouldnt be a major issue in multiplayer.
