GameDev Studio is an alternative to Gamemaker that is completely free. The applications that it produces are powered through an open source engine, combined with Irrlicht (3D rendering engine) and OpenAL (Sound Engine), all programmed in C/C++. They are all also cross platform, and a linux port is in progress.
This is still a work in progress, but is slowly evolving and I hope it will become popular. This version should fix the compiler errors most people were experiencing. You will need MinGW installed to compile a game. A Linux port is in progress. View the changelog contained within the download to view all changes since the previous versions.Not much more to say, except check out the website.Cheers~~Brett14;

I shall attempt to download/setup by the end of the week :UDownloading. I'll harshly criticise and evaluate. >:3
EDIT: You seriously need to mirror this to other file-sharing sites. That one that you're using keeps throwing a 504 at me.I just looked at the screenshots - looks creepily like GM… but with no Drag and Drop? So: instantly better.
When do you anticipate having a Mac version? And is this able to load .gmk files?
Mac version will come last because I do not own a mac, however I have both windows and linux. No, this is not able to load .gmk's, because this is not at all gamemaker related, it just looks like it and does almost the exact same thing. It is faster, free and runs off an open source engine. The major downside is that since it is still a WIP it does not have all the functions implemented that gamemaker does yet.
