Old Shit from File Manager = Pretty Neat Stuff

Posted by duckman on March 6, 2012, 8:29 p.m.

So, I found this old CD in my room and popped it in to my computer to see what was on it. And it just so happened to be a huge collection of my earliest games I made from 2004-2005. All of them are just awful. So damn terrible. That being said, I'm still so glad I still have these games.

After playing these games, I wanted to find more of my old stuff. I started looking at a bunch of old CD's that I had lying around, not finding much. Then I remembered 64Digits file manager still has all my stuff from the beginning of time! The stuff is pretty neat (to me anyways) and I would like to share some of it with all of you.

-Buffit Badge. Nobody ever got this badge. Right?

-Some cool pixel art of a rabbit.

-What is that symbol supposed to be?

-Good times.

-Mr. Soap: A game that will never see the light of day. Although, if you beat Plactoid you can play a short demo of it.

Stupid Comic I Made:

-Anyone think it's funny? No? Okay…

Platform Example:

-Surprisingly runs really smoothly. I bet the coding isn't great though. The music is way to awesome to be used in this example.

Dancin' Danny:

-This game is full of action, explosions, a fat dancing guy named Danny, and it teaches you to type!

Funny video of me and my brother playing mini-stick hockey:

-Somebody gets hurt. That's funny right?

Song created from samples using Flash:

-It's also got a stupid drawing of some animal in it. What the hell is that?

-Umm, what?

Now, go look through your file manager. Find anything interesting?

Also, my game Plactoid has been downloaded 100 times here. I didn't expect so many people to play it. In fact, it has been downloaded twice as many times at 64Digits than at YoYo Games. I've come to realize that this really is a fantastic little community, which is why I am more active here then I ever have been. Thank you, everyone!

Eh, not sure why I screencapped something so fucking dumb. Or took a picture of myself like that.

Wish I did something with these characters…

My file manager files include, among other things, this image of New Zealand falling off the map.

It also includes a pixel Rez once did of himself and his ex-GF, with their faces swapped.

This one is called "googletse.gif":

There's also this mashup of Moebius' faces from SR2.

All this stuff you guys are posting is pretty damn neat. It's fun looking through your old creations, eh?

First one to call dibs can have the Buffit badge. Although, I have no authority to do such a thing. So, yeah…

Also, I have over a 100 plays on my game but only 2 ratings. Could somebody be so kind as to rate it one more time?

After a little more searching through my file manager, pretty much all I found was screenshots and digital art that turned out horribly compared to what I draw now.

But here's some lovely pixel art I did back in 2011. Or maybe it was late 2010. I don't really remember.

…I don't really remember how I did that.

Later I ended up doing an animation. It was never finished, but the walk cycle was all right.
