Updated Version of DUNGEONMEN: Men of Dungeons

Hi all,

We've spent some time balancing, tweaking, adjusting, and bug-fixing our RPG4D entry, DUNGEONMEN: Men of Dungeons. You can download it here: http://www.crithit.org/dmen/dungeon.zip

Note, however, that for the time being, I'm not overwriting the upload that's hosted here on 64 Digits. Anyone who is voting on this game for the contest should vote based on the merits of the 64D hosted version, which is the one we submitted at deadline, warts and all. This re-release is for those who enjoyed playing the game, and want a more balanced and enjoyable experience.

That said, here's what the patch offers:

Adjustments:

- rebalanced distribution of gold (especially early in the game)

- recruiting new heroes no longer costs money

- boss strategies for Tauraxx, Hydramorte, Phrygos VI, and Zagon tweaked for greater challenge

Bugfixes:

- fixed a critical bug that sometimes caused heroes to PERMANENTLY lose stats when diseased, if you used a healing item on them while the disease was active (this was actually an OHRRPGCE engine bug, not a flaw with the game itself!)

- fixed a potentially game-crashing bug that caused script overflows if you played for long enough; this is now totally resolved.

- fixed a few isolated issues where player input became permanently suspended.

- fixed a REALLY WEIRD and poorly understood issue with the ninja's Disarm Traps skill that caused errors, but *only* if the ninja was in the third rank of the party.

In any case, it goes without saying that if you're playing Dungeonmen for fun, you should definitely download this new version, as it's much more stable, and features way better balance.

Thanks to anyone who has checked the game out so far and liked what they saw; your support is very much appreciated.

Nope, but that's coming. Shizuma is the character artist for this one (I drew the tiles, cutscenes, basically everything else), so I don't feel right about editing his work and he hasn't finished overhauling yet. It will happen soon, though!

Theres a bug in wich you are in water and then you use a "wing" to teleport to the town, when you are in the town half of your body will be invisible.

PS: Does characters recover the dungueon ability sometime?
